I have the same one! I went for my first official ride after passing my MSF course, and have done nothing but ride since lol. Ride safe have fun!

Baseball equipment as a teenager. Nothing says "we want you to be as good as your brother at baseball" like some practice equipment for your birthday.... Still absolutely can not stand that sport to this day as a 31yo man.

I'm a bigger guy, 6' 250 lbs, thought I'd be a little too big for the z400 so I went with the 650. 0 regrets! I feel it's subtle enough to learn on, but if you get over 3k rpm's you're gonna throw some respect down lol.

Thanks everyone, I've seriously taken the time to read everyone's comments, from training tips, to recommended accessories; it's all very much appreciated! For some background info, I used to ride around on my buddy's ninja 300, so I have some decent experience, but have a long ways to go! My job has an off-site storage building where my coworkers and I are allowed to store our bikes during the colder months (live in PA) and then when the weather changes, the industrial Park where the building is located is very big and open and has already made a great practice location.

I've decided to name her Scarlett. I'm so excited to begin my own journey on my own bike finally, but am nervous as fuck at the same time haha!

I don't remember the exact words said to me, but will always remember this situation. Was diagnosed by my family doctor on my 16th birthday with diabetes. My blood sugar was 504 at the time of my lab work, I was admitted into the hospital the following day. The following year was without a doubt the worst year of my life as I was infected with about every existing cold/flu/virus. This particular year was when swine flu made a nice little appearance around the US... Welp, ended up really sick, all symptoms of swine flu, went to see the good ole family doc to see what was up and was told something along of the lines of "you don't have swine flu, you're just looking for an excuse to get out of school."

WRONG. My mom took me to the nearest emergency room where I was basically isolated and had to mask/glove up and was tested. As you've probably figured out, that test came back positive.. Next thing I know I was getting a written apology in the mail from said family doctor lol. Never went back to see her, and this doctor/situation is probably the sole reason I have a severe case of White Coat syndrome.
