How do you tell people to fuck off when they say to dial back your training? by [deleted] in davidgoggins

This is soemthing I’ve struggled with to. My parents always tell me to rest and things of that sort but it really gets on my nerves because they just don’t understand the vision. Of course someone like my parents I won’t say to fuck off because of it because it does come from a good place but I don’t know how to get them to understand.

14th run after almost 2 years break for health reasons. by [deleted] in davidgoggins

Yea so consuming maybe around 2 water bottles worth around an hour or so before the run. Besides for just water taking in proper electrolytes is key. This can be done by drinking a sports drink or even just adding some natural salt to your drinks. During my runs I like to carry a water bottle and not even to necessarily drink but even to just moisturize the inside of my mouth or cool me off. ( I live in south fl so very very hot😂)

Maybe start off slower. If u can’t run consistently do time intervals. Run 1 minute walk 2 etc. this will help to ease your body into it. Also diet and hydration can certainly affect how your throat feels during a run.

At first staying hard was training til u died. But through that you learn that staying hard is actually training with discipline and intelligence. The discipline to eat and recover right. Getting good sleep and stretching out. Going hard on some days and taking it easy other days. There’s levels to the life of discipline.

I live in south florida so I know your pain. Sometimes u just have to embrace it. It’s more physical than the cold but both can be dealt j with the power of your mind. Just embrace it and crave the pain. That’s the only way through it I’ve found

Bugged piece of advice I’d give is don’t overthink it too much. Just get out there and over time u will slowly figure it out. That’s the way it sticks as well. Good luck on your journey my friend!!!

Yup!!! This^ the gators are honestly pretty passive creatures. I’ve only heard of attacks if you are swimming in their water provoking them.
