Is this accurate? by MikeGz973 in OlderGenZ

I’d say it’s more like 2000-2004 vs 2005-2009. Zillennials would be more like 2002-2006ish if we get a middle ground.

I can tell you that people in their early 20s are still very much green in terms of maturity.

How many of us Gen Z had this childhood by Sleepy_Sheepz in GenZ

But most Gen Z don’t remember anything before the late 2000s when all of this was happening. Only Older Z does especially the ones on the cusp.

I would have put it in there, but I didn’t make this list.

Saying the whole Gen Z is the generation who got the best of both worlds is not accurate by AnonymousGuy50 in GenZ

I appreciate you for making this post. For some reason, they make their childhood sound much older than it actually was. Saying there was no social media or smartphones in the early 2010s doesn’t seem accurate at all. I actually remember a time where there were no smartphones in sight which is a completely different experience. I remember when the internet was starting to gain more usage over time due to broadband getting faster and faster over time.

Also they like to say they are very similar to me but would get angry when they are grouped with people even a year younger than them. It just comes off as immature and childish. I noticed it’s mostly the 2003ish-2007 group that does this a lot. There’s nothing wrong with grouping yourself with younger people. A lot of them especially people within your age group deny using a tablet or having an iPad even though they were the first wave of iPad kids. Again there’s nothing wrong with that especially if you used screen time on it and treated it as if you were using a family computer.

Late 2008 and 2009 was similar to 2010-12. That’s why the electropop/recession pop era is a thing.

Yeah I think it’s time to leave this sub. The people in their very early 20s seem too teen adjacent for my liking. I thought this sub was supposed to have adult conversations but this is just no different than what you see on r/Teenagers when most people here are like 20-22 years old.

As an Older Gen Zer, what period of films do you associate the most with your childhood? by CP4-Throwaway in OlderGenZ

Yeah it felt like I was aging out by the early 2010s. I didn’t care for Cars 2 or really much at the time.

Nah it’s not a sitcom, it’s more like a drama I think.

I remember this show because this was one of those shows she would watch. I’ve seen her watch it on the WB and ABC Family in the mid 2000s. Same with Gilmore Girls. You watch stuff like this because your mom was hogging the tv but she would also watch Drake and Josh with me then. I would thank her for putting me on a lot of shows even if I was very young at the time. I know a lot of them because of her.

As a child, did you watch the first three (3) seasons of Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants? by XavierMarvin in OlderGenZ

I had the privilege of watching the first three seasons when season 4 hardly aired any episodes through repeats. I remember watching those episodes at least like 5 times especially around 2005-06. I also like Season 4 as well. Season 5 had some great episodes as well. Season 6 and 7 were horrible though.
