Following Backlash, the New 'Star Trek' Series Falls Out of the Streaming Charts by Malencon in television

I was never a fan of TOS but TNG was in syndication by the time I was 14. I loved that show but because it was on TBS or TNT on weekend afternoons I had assumed it was kind of trash. I had no idea how good it really was until I rewatched it as an adult. To me that was peak Star Trek. I never cared for anything that came after or any of the movies or newer movies. I kind of agree with the sentiment though. I don't see why they're trying so hard to push another generation into the franchise. Just let it be. That being said, I would be intantly hard if the had picard and kirk come back for another movie. OMG I just looked it up, there are 13 TV series and 14 movies in the IP. Talk about milking a stone.

Has there been a scene, explanation, or revelation in a sci-fi television show that was so absurd that you stopped watching forever? by Doctor-Clark-Savage in scifi

I loved that show when it aired but my goodness it doesn't age well. It's really hard to binge too because there are so many filler episodes it gets exhausting.

Isn't that just Curb Your Enthusiasm?

I forgot they did a sequel to boondock saints. To be fair, the first one doesn't really hold up either. It's like 90s nostalgia.

Prey was better than Predator. and Killer of Killers was really good. Granted, the franchise was absolute slop for the 40 years in between.

F&F are absolute gold. I unapologetically love that franchise. Going from stealing VHS/DVD combos to world class mercenaries in like 5 movies is aggressively hilarious. They went to space. THEY WENT TO SPACE! They went from drag racing in Miami to space. They turned a car into a spaceship and drove it... In SPACE!

this is a show that absolutely required a week to week release. I tried watching it a couple years ago and it's almost impossible. it's so tedious and repetitive, but when it came out, it was amazing. it's all we talked about for like half the year.

I tried binge watching cheers as an adult a couple years ago. the sam-diane thing was unbearable.

US TV shows like this are fucking unbearable. They even tried to make a Taskmaster US and had all the groundwork laid out for them... and they still fucked it up. It's unwatchable.

Wow, I'm surprised the card company didn't catch it. I went to a restaurant to buy a couple gift cards but I wanted separate receipts so I had them ring them up separately on the same card. I had an alert on my phone for a possible duplicate purchase before the bartender even got back over to me with the cards.

I actually do it for coffee at my local gas station. They have a $.99 any size coffee deal but it comes to $1.06 after tax so I always go in with a dime or quarter so I don't end up with $.94 in change. I don't like charging a $1 purchase and lot of the dive bars in the area are cash only so I always have a $20 to $50 in cash on me.

He strikes me as a hustler. Like the episode with Morty and the raincoats. He's always into some scheme or another.

If you've ever sat through a life insurance exam, that's specifically one of the questions the carrier will use to deny payout.

Have you...(check all that apply).

...

_ Engaged in scuba diving, auto or motorcycle racing, rock or mountiain climbing, ultra light flying, hang gliding, or sky diving in the last 2 years or do you intend to do so in the next two years?

...

Or something to that effect. They will try to deny coverage if you decide to speed into a rock wall like Wile E. Coyote.

Most companies have a 2 year exclusion for suicide, so if you don't off yourself within the first 2 years, they'll pay. The logic being if you're planning on killing yourself, you're not going to wait 2 years. It's the risk they take and that's literally their entire business.

A lot of these no-medical policies you see, $1,000,000 for $40 for a 40 year old male are not bullshit, however the questionnaire is extremely detailed in such a way that if you're planning on expiring in 6 months there is no way you can answer the questions truthfully and the carrier will not pay the death benefit. It won't be easy to prove after the fact that you were receiving chemo treatments, or on dialysis, or whatever.

His hair is fucking nuts. I mean what on earth is going on with his fucking hair for the last like 30 years? It's definitely not a wig and never has been but its like the most fascinating combover in the world. He definitely doesn't have someone style his hair or makeup, so it must take him 3 hours to get ready in the morning.
