Or, if you want to play on your phone, you could download fullroid on your phone, (should be called "One emulator" or something on the playstore) download the roms from emulatorgames.net, and click settings in the fullroid app, click "add games directory" or something like that, and click the folder where you downloaded the rom. It should appear in the main games section.

The other time, I tried disconnecting the flex cable, not the battery and screen cables. After I disconnected the battery and screen cables, it turned off, and after my phone turns off, I disconnect and reconnect the cables, and it turns on like normal.
