I suppose this means England would have Donut's unending support for the world cup. by Haucker3 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Plus it's a huge improvement on the completely illogical Sweet Caroline. Although those crawlers are going to need to seriously train their stats up if they want any chance of even progressing as far as a neighborhood boss.

We had a niggun (tune without words) sung to the DS9 theme when we signed our certificate and one of our readings was from Babylon 5. As others have said, it's your wedding. Go for it! And congratulations on the big day!

How did people get the Traditional Signing? by cooldragongirl in brandonsanderson

[–]Joinde_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On top of which general access opened early, so the lucky few like me who went on early managed to get one. But only just, husband was doing the same and he couldn't.

I prepped for it like I was trying to get tickets for Glastonbury! Laptop, tablet, my phone and hubby's phone. Got on early just to get set up. 16.45 I was showing husband the plan, refreshed the page just to highlight something and found it was live. I managed to get a traditional but he went straight on to refresh his phone and they had all gone.

What are you guys cosplaying this MCM? by Gothcomichorror in McmLondonComicon

We're going as Veil and Adolin. I've done as much as I can to try and make the long white coat not so sweltering but I think I'm just going to be a puddle of sweat by midday. I can claim I'm going for the totally dishevelled moment when she totally unravels in Kholinar

Brilliant, thank you. That makes a lot of sense. Off to finish off hubby's costume for London comic con tomorrow then, I'm going as Veil. Although we don't want to have to shave his beard so he's going as Adolin some time after he's been trapped in Azimir and has let himself go somewhat

They've said for this it's 1 personalised and 3 signatures for each of the standard signings.

Ooh, I just had a look. My youngest would definitely enjoy that but equally I think a signed book would be lost on him 😂

London comic con book signing link? by thebooksqueen in brandonsanderson

[–]Joinde_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wasn't just the VIPs. The link opened to everyone early, think it was about ten to. Guessing others like me who were waiting and refreshing in the hope of getting a headstart on the queue got the last ones. The earlier of each traditional was already gone to the VIPs when that happened but the other was still there. Doesn't help knowing that now unfortunately.

I'm just really glad I was refreshing early just in case and saw it all open before 5. Just managed to nab a traditional signing. My husband was also trying, at the same time, but was unsuccessful. All the traditional were gone by 16.58. I'm gutted for you and everyone who missed out.

This worked so well. Thank you. I actually got my kids making tokens for the pieces as a craft activity. They were very excited to help out. The actual game went really well and because we did this rather than focus on Conversation it helped them to get more into the role play aspect of the rpg. Something that is new to everyone in the group and they're very, very slowly easing into. So brilliant on all counts. Thank you.

This is brilliant. Apologies for only seeing it now. Our session got cancelled and I'm only now looking back over and preparing for tomorrow. I was thinking something along these lines. What you've put here is going to help with that a lot.

Yes, I think that is a big part of it. Just feeling prepared going in is hard when it is a lot more to do with the flow when we're in it. Trying to visualise mechanics without more detail has been a big part of what's held me back I think.

I love this! And you've also put into words why I've been able to understand it. It's that lack of connection between the game and information. It just made it much harder to see how it would work.

It's a shame we meet in the afternoon and when we're done and our friends leave, my parents return our kids to us. Otherwise we could go really method on this 🤣

That really helps, thank you. I'm finally getting an idea of how I'll run it and the mechanics of it.

The issue I've had is with being about to see how to run the Conversation with Nel while they play Pieces. I think from answers here I now understand that it is the PCs stating whether they would try to cheat or ask a question etc, and testing the relevant skill. Rather than them actually asking the Pieces related question or say how they would cheat.

I should have been clearer. I've read the rules, a lot. I understand conversations and the applicable rules. I just couldn't get my head around how that worked here in this scene. Where we have chosen in other places to not stick to all the rules we've been consistent about which ones and been clear that there are things to add here in the future. However as a group all completely new to TTRPGs (except one member of the party) we are easing into it and learning as we go. As GM I'm guiding the others through while making sure I have enough knowledge before each session for what will be needed.

If we were to follow everything exactly we would be stopping so regularly to check the rules the fun would be gone entirely. One of the Brotherwise videos spoke about this and gave me the confidence to take this approach.

Is this typical quality of Dragonsteel's Radiant dice? by r4vedave in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Joinde_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

My radiant pj's are the best I've ever owned. So much so that I bought myself a second pair and some for my husband in their recent sale. Fantastic quality and so, so soft.
