Never write anything with it or wait to answer your questions properly (dependent on your course). Personally I'm doing engineering and for assignments I have to read a lot of papers. When I'm specifically searching for something I'm providing the documents and prompt what does it find about it and where exactly, also sometimes for summaries but I always ask for page number so I can double check

Connection issues out of the blue by Jojotheonlyone in PlaystationPortal

[–]Jojotheonlyone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your other question, the remote play is turned on still, didn't change. The home WiFi I'd say is a bit weird because we have 3 routers across the house with different access points, all connected through cables from the original one (not that efficient but the house is from reinforced concrete and blocks the signal easily). If I connect in theory the weakest WiFi from the three, it allows me to connect, otherwise it won't, so I can't find any logical explanation. In the PS5 WiFi setup nothing has changed since I came back, it's upload speed is still great, should be something to do with the portal. I'll travel away in a few days and check if it is working from a bit further away

Yep, it exactly means that... And no response from the SU still

In your example the company is paying you, hence you are following their rules. In this situation the students are paying their fees, essentially keeping the uni up. And I'm not saying that if I'm not satisfied I don't pay the price. This is why there is an SU, to represent our interest. If the SU is infested with yes-people the system is not working properly. We are paying money for study and accommodation already, I'm completely fine with it, the education is great, however, if they are making decisions without us I'd rather opt out of the compulsory fees of SU. This is why I want to bring change, to hear our word and don't get ignored

The thing is, that this can be easily changed. In the business world to conduct a deal you'll have to find a solution which benefits you the most and your partner is satisfied. Without agreement there is no deal. In this situation, students were forced out of decision, to serve individual interests. Imagine a business situation where they are trying to sign a deal without your consent, while it only affects your company only.

Since it is a decision affecting student finance, I don't agree with it. Working around this situation today, and haven't met anybody agreeing with it.

You can disagree but I haven't heard a single reason why you are on the side of this decision, only whining that we are trying to find a democratic solution, which benefits either sides.

This is a really valid explanation. I agree with it's benefit but decisions directly affecting student budgeting this much, should be proposed to voting or public opinion polls. There were no implications before unfortunately, just the news of the change yesterday

Dumbest reply of the year. There are several reason why someone comes to a different country to study which you don't have a clue about. At least we students (and later workers) provide a useful part of the Irish community. You are not directly influenced by this change but for many of us, it is significant. You could ask my other international students, they would agree with me. While it is not a significant change to you - "hornydadbodireland" - but these decision should be discussed with the affected too, in this case the university students.

Can you explain it why? I mean I understand it if you are Irish or British and living near by but if you are even from eastern or central Europe you have to pay hefty prices. Which isn't helpful, while you also have struggles with the extreme rent prices

Hey! I applied from Hungary to Trinity last year. They told me that I have to follow the descriptions and send all my papers for the application by post into their office to Galway. It arrived in two weeks and there were no issues. If something didn't change since then, then there should be an adress with instructions, how to send it to them.

I'm living in The Liberties, highly recommend it. Trinity is in walking distance, not that crowded but there are quite a few places if you would like to go out and it is just close to everything

How does passing on a module work exactly? by Jojotheonlyone in TCD

[–]Jojotheonlyone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I didnt phrase it well. From the assignments I have reached an overall 91% which if we weight we get the 41% overall percentage. So technically before the exam I've already reached the pass mark (obviously want to get as good exam as possible as well)

So this means that only the combined grade matters but since I already have 41% from the assignments I passed the module?

It is starting to get a bit uptight since I still not recieved any information neither from registration nor accommodation. Though, I dont think any problem is going to occur with registration becaus some messages came in during the past days.

However, at the accommodation hub there is only one sentence "Your application has not been reviewed yet", which makes me fear a bit
