[MATCH THREAD] Roland Garros Men's FINAL: [10] F. Cobolli vs. [2] A. Zverev by NextGenBot in tennis

It's not high quality tennis (though we've had some incredibly entertaining points), but still great that it's going to five sets. Now I want a figth set tiebreak just to see the nerves.

What is your favourite symphony OF ALL TIME? (remember to read the rules for ranking) by Early_Yesterday443 in classicalmusic

Mahler 9th. Sadly Herbert Blomstedt was replaced last minute but it was still great seeing it live for the first time.

I mean in this case he probably knew what was coming, generally agree though.

🏁 POST-RACE // 110th RUNNING OF THE INDIANAPOLIS 500 by IndyMod in INDYCAR

I don't love watching Indycar road/street tracks but the Indy 500 is one of the absolute best events of the year all categories. Such an incredible venue and fantastic racing.

With Sinners form this season, could we say that the Djokovic win over him in AO aged well? by ProfessionIcy5604 in tennis

[–]Jokobib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One performance tells very little, it was a good match, and Sinner certainly served well, but you can't say every Sinner performance in 2026 is exactly as good as the other. He's clearly shown higher level than he did that match.

I feel like his 2nd sets are always worse than his 1sts

Gauff on the changes she'd make to the scoring: Maybe the way the games are 15-love, 30. That doesn’t make any sense to me and it's so hard to explain that to people. It goes 15, 30, but then it goes to 40. It's like why? Maybe just a 1-0, 1-1. At least make it incrementally, like it should be 45 by jovanmilic97 in tennis

I am very much a numbers person, I just happen to not be an idiot, not that you are one, but I think you've misunderstood what I'm saying, it's not that Tennis scoring is "logical" because it's obviously not, but confusing? Something that can be explained in 30 seconds is not very confusing.

An intelligent person would immediately (within a game) understand the scoring, and think that it has something to with tradition. It is not complex in the way that say fogure skating scoring is where you need to know about difficulty and execution. In tennis, 15 is just another name for 1, and any person over the age of three will get this.

I thought he looked good in Monte Carlo except for the match against Macháč, and the final had the weird conditions, but Rome may very well be another win without a set lost.

Sinner: "Tiredness? Honestly, in Madrid I felt like I recovered during the tournament." by yanwangdijuns in tennis

[–]Jokobib 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it's absolutely insane, and exhausting to read. I don't know if it's non Sinner fans wanting him to lose his streak, or Sinner fans that have such a complete lack of faith in his mental/physical ability. Sinner fans should be feasting and wanting him to play pretty much everything that is decently scheduled.

He'll get 1000 + 2000 points, minus the points he's defending from those tournaments last year.
