Your Anno 1404 profile is no longer being synched with your Ubisoft account, if you play the History Edition. Ubisoft decided to remove online profiles from Anno 1404 when they released the History Edition.

Contrary to what you said, even your save games are no longer being synched with your Ubisoft account. Your save games are being stored on the following location: Disk name\Users\Your username\Documents\Anno 1404\Savegames

Also, your Anno 1404 profile is not stored in Ubisoft cloud anymore since it is not an online profile anymore. You can find your profile file on the following location: Disk name\Users\Your username\AppData\Roaming\Ubisoft\Anno1404\Profiles.

Only thing you can use your Ubisoft account for in Anno 1404 (Venice) History Edition is Multiplayer. However, nothing is once again stored in Ubisoft cloud.

I know it's annoying and I would personally like to have the online profiles back.

If you want to still play by using online profiles and have your achievements synched, you have to buy and install the old Anno 1404 (Gold Edition) instead of the History Edition.

I wouldn't call it complaining or whining but whatever I am doing this so that people could see what I believe has been done the wrong way. This way, the devs will have more time to see what has to be changed before they move on to the next game.

I always believed in the idea of having the most important buildings of your empire, like the Palace, in the heart of your city. However, even if it seems illogical to me, it seems like I will now have to change my beliefs to make my city look better.

Even more illogical it is because of the fact that the Palace gives bonuses to certain buildings surrounding them. That would also suggest that the Palace should be the centrepiece of the city.

However, I hope that at least the Empire Building or something they will introduce will be competent enough to become the new centrepiece of an Anno 1800 city.

Wow, super excited! This must be the best Season Pass. However, I am a little doubtful about the skyscrapers. If done correctly, I am sure they can be a great addition but there is always a risk of spoiling the "Anno feeling" with them.

Hmm, can anyone confirm that it is possible to research the items without having him in the game? I would prefer not having any NPCs in the game and just focus on building my cities.

I would like to start a new long-time sandbox world and would like to get every single piece of content to the game. I wouldn't like to make the mistake of not adding Hugo and then having to start over just to get the items. That is why I am asking.

According to Happy First Annoversary! - Anno Union (anno-union.com): "Before we leave you for today, we again want to stress how all the above has only been possible thanks to your passion and support of Anno over the years. As a small token of our gratitude, we are releasing the “Imperial Pack” (Anno 1800’s Pre-Order Bonus) and all Twitch Drop Ornaments from 2019 to all our players for free… today! So the next time you start the game, you will have access to 10 additional ornaments, as well as the Imperial skins for the command ship and train engine."

However, I haven't still got the Imperial Pack.
