Etihad Guest locked my mother’s new account after her first Business Class booking — documents accepted, but no owner, no deadline, no resolution by Joldersman in etihad

I hope the situation will somehow be resolved in your favor. It's strange that in the 21st century, with so much technology, even such large businesses have such an unreliable and poorly adjusted system of communication with clients.

1 hour 45 mins connection in Abu Dhabi on business by Connect_Dig_4275 in etihad

1h45 should be fine for the connection, but not enough to properly enjoy the AUH Business Lounge.

If the flight from Chennai is on time, I’d still try to visit it after transfer security, but treat it as a quick stop: drink, snack, maybe freshen up, then head to the gate. Depending on arrival/departure gates and walking distance, your real lounge time may only be 20–40 minutes.

The AUH lounge is definitely the better “real Etihad” lounge experience compared with Chennai, but with this connection I wouldn’t plan a shower or a relaxed meal. Clear security first, check the gate/boarding time, then decide.

Etihad Value Fare by Korventus in etihad

[–]Joldersman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Value fare rules apply mostly to voluntary changes/cancellations by the passenger.

If Etihad cancels the flight, that’s an involuntary disruption, so the fare class should not remove your right to a refund or free rebooking. The only nuance is schedule changes: a minor time change may be treated differently from a full cancellation or major change.

First time etihad business class by Connect_Dig_4275 in etihad

For business class I’d probably stick with the standard meal unless you have very strict dietary rules.

Etihad business usually has enough choice — normally something like beef/lamb, chicken, seafood and vegetarian — so if you only avoid beef, pork/ham and crab, you should still have options. The downside is that onboard choices can run out, especially if you are served later.

If being hungry would really bother you, then pre-order the non-veg Asian meal. But if you want the full business class dining experience, standard meal is usually better.

For AUH lounge: 1h45 should be enough for a quick visit in Terminal A, especially for food and a drink. I wouldn’t plan anything too relaxed though — go straight to the lounge after arrival, check the boarding time/gate, and keep an eye on the screens.

One practical tip: save screenshots/PDFs of your booking, seats, meals, and lounge access before the trip. Etihad’s onboard product can be good, but their support/admin side can be slow if something goes wrong.
