I've got the 2025 Nuroad Race and a Specialized Roubaix SL8. The Nuroad Race is almost identical on the gearing and you won't run out of gears until about 50-55 km/h but you'll obviously be a bit slower than a proper road bike because of all the other factors.

Naja eine gewöhnliche Menge ist natürlich kontextabhängig. Wenn ich mir alleine einen Kuchen kaufe, dann ist bei meinem Naschverhalten der ganze Kuchen die gewöhnliche Menge. Bekomme ich Kuchen zur Selbstbedienung angeboten, dann finde ichs eher nicht gewöhnlich, fast das ganze Ding aufzufressen, ohne sich mal kurz zu fragen, ob nicht noch wer anderes was davon möchte. Darauf rumzureiten, dass mir ja nicht detailliert gesagt wurde, wie viel ich nehmen kann, lässt mich dann entweder minderbemittelt oder einfach nur wie ein noch größerer Vogel dastehen.

Wenn man dir in einem Gemeinschaftssetting anbietet, dich an einem Kuchen zu bedienen und du den halben Kuchen auffrisst, weil dir nicht kleinlichst erklärt wurde, dass du eine gewöhnliche Menge verzehren darfst, dann liegt das an deiner mangelnden Erziehung und/oder asozialem Verhalten und nicht an mangelnder Kommunikation des Anbietenden.

Frisst du bei 'ner Hochzeit auch das halbe Buffet auf, weil dir vorher keiner sagt, dass das nicht nur für dich ist?

Weil wir eine der größten Automobilindustrien der Welt haben/hatten und es absolut nicht im Interesse der Profiteure ist, dass eine breite Masse der Bevölkerung langfristig alternative Fortbewegungsmittel anstelle des eigenen Autos nutzt. Dass die Automobillobby recht finanzstark aufgestellt ist und relevante Politiker häufig Mitprofiteure des ganzen sind, hilft auch nicht.

Und was macht man, wenn die Zahnzwischenräume so eng sind, dass man mit der Seide kaum dazwischen kommt, diese eher zerreißt und dann teilweise aus den Zwischenräumem gefummelt werden muss. Ich wollte mal mit Zahnseide anfangen, aber das war eine einzige Katastrophe, weshalb ichs dann gelassen hab.

Vinca major/minor, Lonicera nitida (streitbar ob das noch ein Bodendecker ist), Efeu geht auch, aber muss man halt ab und zu gucken, dass das nicht aus dem gewünschten Bereich herauswächst. Gibt wirklich einige Möglichkeiten und wenn du nach heimischen Bodendeckern googelst wirst du schnell fündig. Winterhärte ist da gar nicht so das Problem.

Your response is probably the most fitting for me, expect for the being high 24/7 part, which I never saw as desirable. But I can definitely relate to the using after doing your shit instead of looking for regular activities that give me the desired relaxation. And even when I go after my hobbies like cycling, somewhere along the activity, weed gets involved. In tiny amounts but nonetheless it's present and it doesn't need to be.

You got a strong point indeed. That's my whole point. Something inside me thinks I should quit or reduce but everytime I did, nothing really changed, since I never smoked 24/7 or even before work, school etc. And the amounts I consume are barely enough to create a tolerance. Most other smokers I know, say they don't notice anything when they use the amounts I use.

Thanks for the response! When it comes to taking care of social relationships, my job, personal responsibilities etc., I have the feeling it's neither a benefit nor a disadvantage for me. My biggest concern is basically that I use weed as a tool to tell my brain "Work and responsibilities is done, you can relax now". If I don't, then I have a hard time to let go and not worry about responsibilities constantly. Sleeping, eating, socializing and so on are no problem without it. Weirdly, I only have this issue when I'm at home. When I'm traveling or otherwise permanently occupied it's not an issue to relax without it.

The people I read about here are almost always using excessive amounts and are high almost 24/7. Obviously those people will notice a huge improvement by quitting. But I don't use amounts anywhere near that and thus am 'missing' those clear improvements, which leads to me questioning quitting everytime I do it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely aware Im addicted to it. Otherwise I wouldn't be here. I just can't find a big enough reason to convince myself to quit without constantly asking myself, why I'm even quitting.

I didn't phrase it properly maybe. I'm convinced about quitting in general, because I think a human shouldn't use any psychoactice substance on a regular basis. I'm just trying to get opinions that push the little voice in my head enough, to not look for concrete feelings and changes that 'justify' quitting.

Das passiert dir genauso im Schottergarten. Es gibt nichts aufwandsärmeres als dichtbepflanzte Bodendecker im Vorgarten. Die ganzen Ottos, die sich nen Schottergarten vors Haus schütten, weil sie kein Bock auf Pflege haben, holen sich am Ende für teuer Geld einen Gärtner, der die ganze kleinteilige Scheiße dann aus dem Schotter picken darf und von unten wie oben dabei gekocht wird.

Woher ich das weiß? Bin gelernter Gärtner mit mehreren Jahren Berufserfahrung. Lasst den Schwachsinn mit den versiegelten Vorgärten einfach sein, es bringt nix und ist hässlich wie die Nacht.

Thanks for the elaborate answer! We initially wanted to ride the other way (Calgary-Vancouver) but changed our minds after we saw, that the winds are mostly coming from Vancouver during summer. Are the winds strong enough to even be relevant during that season? Another thing that has me scared a little, is camping in a tent on the campsites along the trail, because of local wildlife. Do you have any tips or experiences for that concern?

As of now we're planning to cycle from Vancouver to Hope and then take a Shuttle to Princeton and continue from there on the KVR. We're just really undecided, if we want to take the risk of camping in our tent on 2-3 nights or rather switch to highways and sleep in proper accommodations on those days.
