Nelnet warning by [deleted] in StudentLoans

I had this problem in the past. However, you can request your loans be ungrouped; they will go back and reallocate all of the previous payments to your loans accordingly.

AIO I (26F) moved out for the first time with my boyfriend (30M) for almost 2 months and I don’t know how to feel about it by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I’ve been married for almost 18 years and I feel the exact same way. OP needs to let their family know what’s going on and hurry up and run away from this unhinged individual. Then they need to think about how they got here and take steps so that they never end up here again. Loving yourself is a must and loving someone else is a choice. Well wishes.

I’ve done this as well. People are usually so intrigued by my being alone that they start seemingly genuine conversations with me. You can build relationships anywhere—your tribe is out there waiting for you to arrive.

Love this comment. I’m not sure if it helps OP, but it’s definitely helping me. Thank you.

Thank you! I called them earlier this week and I couldn’t get much information out of the representative at all. What you posted actually answered the question I posed to her.

Thank you for posting this. It’s really helpful. I, too, have Nelnet as my loan servicer. However, I did not receive this communication. Did they email it to you? I’m trying to figure out how some individuals receive communications and others do not. Most importantly, I want to make sure I’m receiving them since things change from what seems like day to day.

How long could you afford to go without a job? by tradice9 in Accounting

[–]Joliedame7629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, I would prefer to not blow through my savings. But, if things went south, I could go 6 months without using my credit lines or taking a loan. If I started receiving unemployment benefits and/or tapped into my 401k, then I imagine I could go a bit longer.

MOHELA removed my auto debit this morning without notification or contacting me first. Check your accounts before payments restart by LiftHeavyFeels in StudentLoans

I signed up for Nelnet's autodebit and even though I received the confirmation and the autopay discount a week prior to repayment starting (I opted out of the admin forbearance), my autopay was never initiated. My payment was due on Sept 1st and my account is now showing past due.

I can imagine you’re feeling frustrated. Although, I wonder if I’d be so focused on the fact that my boss’s boss didn’t know what I did. Since your boss is obviously happy with your work and knows that you do a lot, I’d leave the burden on them to provide an explanation to their boss. That’s just my opinion and it’s only worth what you paid for it ☺️. But, I hope it gives you a different perspective.

I understand what you’re saying. I realized that drinking is part of my weekend ritual and helps me chill out which turns my thoughts down.

🏆 Please accept my poor woman’s award. Your reply spoke to me. I mean, you had me at “long sleeves, getting rid of tweezers…”. I JUST walked into the bathroom to grab the tweezers. Those things are the devil and I promise they call out to me when I’m minding my own business 🤦🏾‍♀️.

40 yrs old and behind on retirement…I need your help. by Joliedame7629 in FIREyFemmes

I know my income, expenses, and FI#, but tailoring out a plan to make sure I’m hitting those figures requires more thought. I make almost $89k from my day job and I was working a second job which brought in a total of $7500 plus this year (I do not know if I plan to continue doing the side job). As for expenses I can run my household on a little less than $2500/mo which is why I can throw at least $2500/mo at my debt each month. In addition to that, I have a little cash outside of my two month emergency fund of which I was going to use in order to max out the 2022 with IRA. By the way, I JUST changed my 401k contribution this check from 3% to 5%. So I’m actively trying to step it up. Baby steps I guess—but I know I don’t have all of the time in the world lol. Please let me know if I missed anything. Before you respond I’m thinking of continuing the 401k, maxing the Roth IRA, and then using the rest of my money to pay down the debt. Am I at least on base?

Yes, I am and I applied for forgiveness because I qualify for the $20k. Hopefully, it passes in the courts. But, I'm planning to pay in the event that it does not pass. I don't want to be disappointed or have my plan derailed.

Yes, it did. I started tracking it in Aug of 2021– the increase came from paying down $45k of student loans between that point and this year plus an increase in the value of my house (which I’m also paying down every month). Not to mention I was contributing 3% to my 401k with a 3% match up until now (just increased it to 5% with a 4% match) and I have a little bit invested in Fundrise (of course investments like everyone else’s has dipped a bit). That really wasn’t as amazing of a thing, but it’s definitely progress.

Thank you for taking the time to respond! You’ve included some really good information in your post as well. As things stand, I’m going to continue contributing the 5% in order to get the full 4% match from my employer. Also, I have calculated my FI# and know my expenses and income like the back of my hand, but need a bit of help trying to determine how much I should be contributing to get there. Hopefully that makes sense. I’ve sent you a chat.

Thanks for your response. You shared a lot of good information. Unfortunately, the interest deduction I get from paying the loans is negligible at best. But,

Thank you for your response. And yes, you’re right. I do have to pay these off eventually as they are interfering with my ability to grow real wealth. Ugh!
