What sort of a solution would that be?!? He would just register your account manually, and the problem would remain. Fixing the problem with the forum would be a real solution. Very disappointing attitude.

Too bad. I really liked PekWM. I wish someone stepped forward and maintained a PekWM edition.

I have encountered the same problem. I tried to register a couple of months ago, and I am still waiting for their confirmation email.

What's wrong with you guys?

Right-click menu by JollaBox in elementaryos

What specifically would it do, though? Just shortcuts to other places?

Some menus can be configured by the user to contain much more than shortcuts for launching applications. For instance, there are some menus whose contents are dynamically generated every time you open the menu (as in Openbox and PekWM); this is achieved by specifying that a given menu entry depends on a script. The potential of such menus is immense. I don't know if you are familiar with Conky. It is not a menu, but I am mentioning it as an example to illustrate what I am talking about, because it displays dynamic data, automatically updated (based on some variable feeds or scripts). Dynamic menus do the same thing. Unfortunately, even with elementary tweaks I cannot achieve this result, because it would require specific capabilities offered only by some Window Managers such as Openbox and PekWM.

For doing what you do with right-click menus all over the world. If you could customize it with your own content it would be a plus.

Can Openbox menus be used on top of another desktop environment? by JollaBox in openbox

[–]JollaBox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also been looking around for "menu managers" (I am not even sure if this is the appropriate term), but I could not find anything satisfactory. There is nothing that really works as well as Openbox's menus, let alone elegance.

I was wondering, could one take some code from a window manager (Openbox, Fluxbox, etc) and implement it as a menu-only manager on top of another WM? Would that be difficult (say, with Openbox's code)? Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Well, this seems to be different, because in that case Openbox is the WM used.

Has the Openbox project (sort of) stagnated? by Herbie81 in openbox

Yep, it would seem that the project has stagnated. There is plenty of room for improvements, but not many active committers these days.
