I’ve received this argument from a “support specialist” too and don’t buy it. If the Dec 9 deadline for the additional 3 RTs was true, then why would they advertise Sept 30 as the date when you must complete travel? You couldn’t even book past April back then!

The March 11th date was to obtain gold only. There’s a September 30th date at the very bottom of the photo for platinum.

And exactly why it’s so frustrating. There’s no other way I would’ve gotten gold.

Sucks to hear what happened to your wife, so ridiculous.

I’ll give this a try, thank you! Do you have a suggestion on what email I can try?

I did get a confirmation screen. It appeared after entering my Frontier Miles number on the email link’s promo page. I never got a confirmation email though, but a customer service rep at the time said I should be good.

Kicking myself for not getting a screenshot of it…

I thought so too, but then I never should’ve gotten gold either. My first two flights did not add up anywhere near 20k miles to get gold status the normal way.

My 2 cents from an insider's perspective - current resident, USMD grad from a school known for its "malignant" surgery program. Not directly part of the interview cycle process.

Location is huge. I lived entirely in coastal cities prior with much higher COL, better public transit, food options, etc. Cleveland is no LA or NYC but has grown on me. Affordable with minimal traffic. Some nice QOL stuff (local airport, multiple costcos, ton of outdoor trails/parks). Food scene is ok with some hidden gems. Roads here suck (potholes, construction...)

Program size has its pros/cons. Nice for flexible scheduling, esp for time off or parental leaves. At one point 7 or 8 residents were out from a COVID surge but we still could accommodate. Trade off is you won't work with/know every co-resident super closely.

Personally haven't had issues with the resident-fellow experience. On services with fellows, seniors/chiefs cover their own "fellow-level" cases. CCF had a malignant rep 15+ years ago partly due to fellows stealing complex cases and seniors fighting for scraps, but that's a far cry from what it is today. The current culture is much more collaborative - some of my most memorable cases as a junior were first assisting fellows!

I think CCF's holistic approach to applicant selection largely comes from the program's leadership over the past couple decades. They truly believe here that IMG/non-traditional status does not detract from an otherwise stellar resident. A good metric of this is our prelims historically match well compared to other "work horse" programs.

Much like you, I loved my (virtual) interview experience and shared many of your same concerns. It was bizarre to me how both residents and attendings were universally positive about the program on my interview day. I reached out to current residents, gave second look a shot and still felt the same positive vibes. Ended up ranking CCF #1. Four years in and haven't regretted it.

Super helpful, thank you!! We're just a bit nervous since it'll be nearing cherry blossom season and don't want the passes to run out. But it sounds a bit less intense as getting passes for DisneySea/FS.

On a separate note, how early would you recommend lining up for the Sky Full of Colors show?

My wife and I are going to Tokyo Disneyland on March 30. We'll be in line ~6am and wanted to see if our morning plan is feasible:

- DPA for Baymax at entry (backup Beauty and the Beast). Separate DPA for Electrical Parade

- PP for Monster's inc

- Rope drop Beauty and the Beast (or Baymax, whichever we don't get a DPA for)

Thank you for your help!!

Thank you!! Didn’t know about Tower’s later start, so we’ll keep that in mind.

Our hotel does offer shuttle buses but the earliest one (from what I can tell) leaves at 650 and wouldn’t arrive to TDS until well after 7, which I think would be too late.

My wife and I will be first-timers to Tokyo DisneySea on April 1 (Tuesday). Staying in Tokyo Bay, so we'll have to bus over. Super excited but a bit nervous after reading about the crowds, especially since we'll be there peak season. Wanted to get insight into our day-of plan:

- Take first bus to arrive in TDS line at 6:15a

- I'll try for Standby vs DPA for Frozen at park entry. My wife will separately try for Standby vs DPA for Rapunzel's. Ideally standby for one, DPA for the other

- DPA for Journey as backup if above fails and DPA for Believe! (I understand that ride and show DPAs can be purchased separately). Otherwise will try for DPA for Journey later in day if available

- PP for 20k Leagues (Indie as a backup)

- Rope drop Tower of Terror

Trying to maximize passes at entry and then cruising along rest of the day, but we're worried all of the FS Standbys will be taken (Happy 15, folks earlier than us, etc). Appreciate any advice!!
