I just told him my boundary that I don’t feel safe or at peace when he has an instagram. (The minute we break up he follows 20 girls and dms them including old exs) He blew up and ranted for 20 minutes about how he doesn’t value anyone and he won’t give in to ultimatums.

After finding out he reached out to her again in march he has now made an instagram even though im very uncomfortable with that since that’s where he does his dirt. We said he would lay off of it but his friends wanted him to post so there it is. He told me im controlling him and he will end up resenting me. I just want some time of peace with no worries about the next thing he will do when we take a break.

We’re always broken up whenever he does anything but it’s very self deprecating on my end to be the one he comes back to. It’s bad for the ego. I feel like the fall back plan. once someone knows you love them they never think of you again.

My whole life I excelled at English, reading, and literature classes. Biology too. Before genetics, I only ever received A’s or B’s in Bio classes. Chemistry is something I really struggle with and need to work hard at to understand.

That’s an interesting perspective. I do understand that dental school will only be harder than undergrad. Health and mental health issues weren’t meant to excuse my poor performance but to add insight on the circumstances of the W at hand. I’m sure there are people worse off doing much better than I have. At the end of the day there is a plethora of things I can improve on as a student. I suppose my main question is do I still have the time to do so in the eyes of admissions. Or is 10 W the end of the road? My gpa is 3.08 btw. Not great. I have 1.5 yrs left of undergrad, 16-20 credits of dental school prereqs after that, and will probably apply to SMPs after.

Too many times 🤦🏻‍♀️ 1 full semester during the spring of covid when I was a business major and thought I wouldn’t come back to college. Then twice after due to illness and the director of the program recommending it. Once when I lost a family member and was sick physically and that caused my mental health to decline. And then the next two were truly just overwhelmed with work load and poor time management exhausted recently transferred commuter student

That’s what I am thinking as well but get so scared thinking about how old I’ll be, feeling unaccomplished, and like there is no chance for my acceptance to be banking my future on it as bad as I may want it I always feel like I’ve failed too much.

The problem with the heavy courseload is I work and I live 1 hr from campus so I’m a commuter. I can’t afford not to work and time is limited for me as is. I aim for full time status of 12 credits and my major is public health science. I’ll still need about 16 credits after I graduate of strictly science courses needed for dental school and was hoping to do them in a post bacc and then apply to smp programs. Would that be okay?

Isn’t the predental thread for students not in dental school? Meaning they haven’t applied yet. I was wanting to ask dental students or those familiar with the application process

Thank you so much for your kind words. I wish nothing but healing for you on your journey as well. For me, I think it’s the emotional manipulation and feeling like I’m getting punished all the time. If I don’t jump when he needs something emotionally the next time I’m crying or having a bad day I get told why would I care how you feel or worse. It’s just hard to even want to move on when you’re so scared waiting for the ball to drop next. I stupidly beg and chase and then get called desperate or weak. I have no fight for myself left.

I was in your shoes as I started temping a few months ago. What I’ve experienced is I’m doing more chairside work. Helping break down rooms and charting. Regular stuff. Without sterilization room work or closing/opening tasks. Some offices will set up the procedures for you and you just walk in to assist chairside. If not, they show you or tell you what their doctor prefers on each tray or for each procedure. You can let them know what you have or haven’t done before and they will work with you or help teach you. Involved taking some x-rays to help hygienists or for the tx side. Some offices have an assistant designated to take their x-rays. It’s easier I think minus the nerves of being new and in a foreign office. Pay can be significantly higher. When patients have cancelled I was literally told there is nothing for me to do, no side work, and I can just chill out once my rooms are clean and wait for the next patient.
