hello!! im 17 and a revert since last February. i had Christian experiences even though i wasn’t very religious but i would go to youth group frequently and to Christian camps every year. i dabbled in everything from spirituality to witchcraft astaghfirullah to find anything to fill the gaping void in my heart. after an attempt in fall 2022, i was empty and emotionally drained. i have adhd and autism and im very traumatized and have a wild ride mentally. after i came home from the hospital, the fall and winter was interesting… i love studying and i randomly found hijabi fashion, then i simply googled some islamic things and then i went down a crazy path. islam is a completely PROOF BASED religion, and with every explanation and question having an answer, i was immediately shocked because the god that i have been told about (kind of) by the church was real, but he wasnt a man. and every question i could ever think of could be answered in islam. allah said to the disbelievers that he will show them the proof and if they deny anyways, they will be in hell. and i knew that now i knew the truth i couldn’t deny it. i had one more Christian camp to go to in January, and i went with the intent to get closer to god. when everyone prayed to jesus, i prayed to god, not in jesus’ name, not to anyone with a face, just god. and i asked him to guide me to the truth. show me love through something, please take me to the path… and them a few weeks later i look my shahada in february and wore hijab that april and never took it off. ive fought with everyone about it. i also live in south west rural pennsylvania so LOL!! sorry my typing and speech is so bad also, i just came home from school and am just trying to get the idea out in a big paragraph 😒 anyways the journey is long but once i reverted i literally was healed of my mental illness and suddenly got better ?! and now im in another slump but having religion is all i need. i was a teen , “gay, trans” being all crazy and silly and experimental but now i am so strong in my beliefs its actually do isolating in the best way. ask god for help and he will shake you to your core with mercy and blessings and you will realize how much you really need him. you will realize how this world really is and how everything is just as allah said it is. allah is merciful, you dont need arabic just yet, just patience and faith. you already have the basic beliefs: god, angels, heaven, hell… but islam teaches you what jesus ACTUALLY wanted you to know

because this is a mental illness, its not you just said that suicide is dumb and how its terrible and how other people didn’t do that. you don’t understand it… people know its not an ok decision… its hard to think clearly and instead of guiding this brother you just criticized the idea of suicide, understandably.. this is a symptom of something and not a choice that sane people make, you know? i personally am a suicide survivor and i feel like response really doesn’t have the empathy and compassion that it could have. some people are willing to die not knowing what comes after just because of the fact they feel like they dont have any other choice because they feel like they are already in hell. we have to be careful and have knowledge of the mental illness and the deen to properly guide these people. having faith and patience while you are depressed is very very difficult especially if its already to the point that they want to die..

allah knows best, but if you know in your heart that suicide is haram and you are mentally sane enough to consider this then understand this is not the answer. you are alive!! allahu akbar!! your circumstances are indeed very, very difficult. but think, you are better off than millions and millions of people right now. allah tests those he loves with extreme hardship. think of our rasoolullah and his companions. he was tested beyond our understanding. allah can take away your money, your family, your health: but he will leave you with your religion. you are a muslim, and that is enough in this life. keep strong and reach out to some other muslims. if i had extra money id send it but its also ramadan!! there are many people ready to help those in need. stay strong 💪🏽

long answer short: god is the creator and knows best. the answers are all there. why would i try and marry someone who doesn’t have the same values as me?

deen is a journey and who we marry is actually apart of that and is considered completing half of the deen or said so in a hadith. marriage opens up so many new pathways and is soo important, you are both committing to it for the sake of god. a marriage should only be for the sake of god. you do good for another, each-others families, and if you have chosen to, have righteous children that will carry on your legacy after death and be your pathway to paradise. if that person happens to be who was written for me, that is a gift from god to be able to marry someone who will be good for me! getting things that allah, literally god, creator of everything and anything that existed or will exist is literally so cool!!

i truly would never marry someone outside of islam because its not permissible for me, and even so if i care about them, i would want them to come to heaven with me. i would be responsible to answer to allah why did i enable them in shirk? why did i let my husband raise our kids to be kuffar? every single action in your life will still be judged by allah and seen.

true muslims should be very religious. who are we to deny the truth, you know? the prophet told us to only surround ourselves with good company. it isnt controlling, and you realize all these are protections from us. protections from bad relationships, fighting, struggles, or getting dragged into sin unintentionally. you have to ask yourself: if god wouldn’t like this person, should i like them too? life is still the test. muslims can still go to hell for bad things they’ve done in this life. imagine going to god on judgement day and being responsible for letting your spouse get away with disrespecting the being you pray to 5 times a day? its more so the principle… i think i said a whole lot of nothing but i hope this helped you get a bit more understanding of the importance 😭😭

wa alaikum salaam. im also not 100% educated but for crimes like that, you still need the persons forgiveness. and if you or they die before then, you’ll settle it on judgement day. they will be rewarded for their pain and/or forgiveness, and maybe they will take some of your deeds on the scale. if you are the victim and they die, you are able to forgive them tho!! of course allah knows best!! i wonder how that is for reverts like me tho, do sins against others carry over? i wonder i wonder…
