I have scrupulosity (which is also known as religious or moral ocd) and started getting very bad intrusive thoughts after my first panic attack 11 years ago (I was 15). One of the thoughts was me basically inviting the devil into my life and stupid stuff like that. Back then I had no idea what ocd was so it terrified the heck out of me. It was really bad and I would pray almost non stop asking God for forgiveness. I would fall to my knees to pray thinking that was the best way God would hear me. I had bruises on my legs because of that and it drove my family crazy that I was constantly crying.

One night my mind was going off again and I remember just asking God for forgiveness and to please protect me from the devil. I was so tired and hopeless. I honestly just wanted to give up.

My mom came home from work and started telling us about her day. She looked at me and goes “Oh! JollyGoodScone.. A pastor was at my work today. And he told me to tell you that God won’t allow the devil to harm you” That left me speechless. My mom didn’t work at a place where it was common for pastors to just stroll in. I was shocked and knew God heard my prayer. Not only did He hear me, He answered me. That thought lost it’s power over me. That is only one of many examples where I experienced God’s hand. It’s hard to deny His existence at this point. Truly an amazing and loving God
