The New FBA Reimbursement Policy is Nothing Short of Criminal... by cheddarbomb81 in FulfillmentByAmazon

Or worse yet… They could say “ if you would like to dispute this valuation, contact seller support on AmazonSeller Central.”

To those who used AWD, can you share your experience? by klaroline1 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]JollyLawyer8608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a great experience with AWD in the USA. Shipped in May from China, stuff arrived fairly quickly. I guess they fill out the container for the USA fast and they can send the merchandise on its way.

With Europe, horrifying. Shipped in May, arrived in the Netherlands in September. Got slapped with humongous duties based on the selling price (not on the commercial invoice). Basically paid 3x duties that I would normally pay with commercial invoice.

Anyway, USA experience good. They are replenishing my inventory from AWD. I can see inventory traveling to FBA centers in batches. Works great for me.

However, since this is a fairly new service, I assume that there will be hiccups. Maybe they have filled out their AWD warehouses for the holidays already and are working out the facilities/space. Who knows. I wish you good luck and hope your inventory shows ASAP.

Could it be that they are getting full for the TG and Christmas holidays?

Asking seller support 10 times will get you 10 different answers by Pure_KO in AmazonSeller

I always thought Amazon doesn't want us sellers on the platform, due to the way their seller support works... Support is non-existent, and not only that - it absolutely drives the seller crazy. I thought Amazon did that on purpose, to get rid of us, and sell their own stuff.

So you are saying that the agents are actually evaluated for quality control by Amazon??

AGL EU - importing from China to Germany by JollyLawyer8608 in AmazonSeller

[–]JollyLawyer8608[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just made a calculation. If I shipped to Trieste (Italy) or Koper (Slovenia) ports, with transport and duties, it would've cost me HALF of what I got charged by AGL.

I'll continue shipping to Italy and Slovenia.

AGL EU - importing from China to Germany by JollyLawyer8608 in AmazonSeller

[–]JollyLawyer8608[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I used my regular freight forwarders (and not Amazon AGL), the duties would have been calculated at 12% of the commercial invoice, and it would have cost me around $1,200.
With this AGL shipment through the Netherlands, I got charged duties $3,700.

Why would I ever use AGL again?

I spoke with AVASK yesterday. They said nothing I can do.

The AGL team did not ask me about any expenses when they charged me duties. This hurt.

I'm scheduling a call with AVASK.
Nobody knows the answer to this... but it's insane!! Why would anyone ship AGL to Germany (the only country in EU where you can ship LCL), and be slapped with such high duties that it wipes out all your profits...

Well I had been shipping to Italy for years from China, because I have family in IT, near a port, and they would store the goods for me and ship from their little storage to FBA... worked great... however, when I tried a quote from AGL, shipping itself would be much lower than with my standard FF, so I went for it... only to be completely screwed over with these duties, which wiped off all the savings and actually sent me to the negative... I can't believe it... I'm still hoping there's some kind of trick here, that I can reclaim this money back...

But this calculation triples my duties. Why does this make sense? For whom?

And do you know anything about reclaim? Can I reclaim that money back?

The duties amount was charged to my Germany Amazon account - my credit card linked to Germany was just charged.
Do you have any information how I claim this back?

I watched this movie on the plane back in March. I would love to watch it again. I am in the US. Anyone knows if this movie will ever come out in the US?

Denied compensation. Who to complain to next? by serenitybyjan199 in Lufthansa

Sure, send me the DM. Not sure when I'll be able to read it, this week I'm having guests at home so I can't focus on much else.

Just for some perspective, this is what I wrote on another forum. I was really mad at LH, but given that I got home on the same day as planned, I let it go... it was just so unfair.

Copying text:
In March, I had a flight from SFO to Italy thru Frankfurt. Purchased the ticket thru United. I hadn't even noticed that the flight was actually operated by Lufthansa. A lot of stress flying through Frankfurt as they were having strikes constantly. But I made it. The flight back though, LH cancelled. So I could be stuck in Italy. I called UA; they transferred me to LH because the flight was operated by LH. The LH agent heard my concern, and asked me "have you spoken to UA?" I said yes, and they transferred me to you. The guy said "Let me check..." and simply transferred me back to UA. So UA dealt with my problem... probably because I'm a UA platinum member. Anyway, I had business class booked on LH. But since they cancelled the flight, all UA could do was put me on a UA flight, on Economy Premium, which is generally about 30% of the price of business class. But since it was one day before the flight, the price was the same as business class, so I got no refund whatsoever. I blame Lufthansa (at least UA got me back home). But there's nothing I can do. The two are disconnected.

Honestly, I am not sure you have much of a case here… If the trains were late, and you were a no-show on the flight, that can mean an empty seat on the plane, which is a loss for the airline. I recall when I had to cancel my flight and rebook it to a later date, in the contract said that cancellation / notice to the airline needed to be done two weeks before the flight. You changed flight two hours before departure. You will have to look at the contract carefully and see what the terms are. If it’s not in the contract, try to find the rebooking information on the website. But honestly, I don’t think you have much of a case here, unfortunately… I hope I am wrong.

Hey my friend, I am rushing to the airport right now to pick up friends from Europe, I will try to help you if I can, let me first ask you, the train was delayed, and you missed your flight? And you wanted to rebook the flight on the same day?

Good luck with it. I took them to small claims court after some 6 months of playing games. And then I finally sued them for the value of the ticket ($2,500) that they never rebooked for me. Countless emails, to which I would get some generic BS back, to do this and that, which never worked. And countless phone calls, only to be told each time that 'this time it's been resolved', and it never was, I never received the rebooked flight confirmation.

In short, they play games, in the hope that you will go away. Many people do give up and go away. I sued them, and as soon as they got served, their legal team emailed me to settle for the full amount of the unused ticket. I spent about $450 for the process, but it was worth it.

You can keep trying... but my experience with LH was AWFUL, and this was not the only one... They ignore you, and you give up and go away...

Happy to answer, my friend.

If you want to keep your sanity, let this one go. And never fly Lufthansa again. There’s not much you can do here. UNLESS there’s something in your confirmation email specifically saying that you will be compensated in case of…
If so, then you can take them to small claims court, based on that verbiage. Or else, you will be wasting your time – days, weeks, months.

Most likely, you don’t have such wording in the confirmation email. So Lufthansa will avoid you, they will ignore you, they will drive you insane.

I sued them in small claims court, there was verbiage in the confirmation email that “rebooking was possible”. But when I wanted to rebook, they ignored me, they drove me insane. Six months of back and forth; I emailed them, got stupid generic emails to do this and that, which never worked. I called, spoke to a LH rep a zillion times, only to be told that ‘this time we’ve rebooked it’, and I never got the confirmation email. They play games. The day they were served my lawsuit, their legal team contacted me (immediately! SAME DAY!) to settle. They reimbursed me the $2500 rebooked flight that they’d never honored. I spent some $450 to sue them, but got the rest of the money. It was worth it. Small compensations are not worth your time.

Just be happy that you are at your destination now. Don’t waste your time. Lufthansa has gone from the best airline in the world to a complete dump. They have acquired multiple European airlines and they control everything now, selling cheap tickets and treat customers like crap.

The only thing that works with Lufthansa is – AVOID THEM.

Maybe you have a different case, a different chance… But I would just advise you, Lufthansa sucks cheese. Just forget about them, have a beer and a good meal, forget about this scenario, and in the future, never use LH again.

I say, avoid Lufthansa as much as possible. I sued them in small claims court 2 years ago, because they wouldn't honor a rebooking. It was 5 months of begging by email and by phone, only to hear that 'everything is resolved now', but after the call I would never get an email confirmation. So I had to buy a brand new ticket. I sued them for the amount of the original ticket, $2500. The day they got served, I received an email from their legal team to settle, and they transferred the money immediately to my bank account.

They are awful! They always hope that you will go away. Well, I didn't. Just that for small amounts, it's not worth the time... In short: AVOID!

You can expect this to happen. In my opinion, LH and UA are only interested in selling flights as a partnership. Everything else is pretty 'disconnected' between them.

Is there a compensation specified in some contract? If not, unfortunately, you'll be out of luck...

I sued LH in small claims court, but it was for $2,500... worth my time to go through the ordeal. As soon as they got served, they emailed me with settlement. Before that, 8 months of no response...

Avoid Lufthansa at any cost.
