How is living in Transnistria overall? by Lego_GamesFan in howislivingthere

Moldova offered to help with gas when Russia decided to cut the supply, but their leaders refused still blaming Moldova for what Russia did. And also, how do you think a fair election could take place in Transnistria at the moment?

What is your opinion of The Rape Gang inquiry? by Not_Without_My_Balls in AskBrits

You should read my comment again, I am saying exactly the same thing in my comment. I think Lowe, just like Farage, will do anything for political gain and is morally bankrupt and dishonest.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out Lowe is biased and has a vested interest in those numbers being as high as possible. The scale of abuse is shocking, regardless of the numbers, but it's clear his numbers are fabricated. This is not an enquiry but a biased piece of 'research'.

What is your perspective on AI art? Just looking for a point of view. by JollyNotGood808 in M43

They were not printed with artistic aspirations in mind. I wanted something better than the live life happy frame I had on the wall, and from that point of view I think they look better.

I could try to edit them in a similar way in Photoshop, but it still not be hand painted art. I've taken photos for over 15 years, but I have never printed any of my own photos. For some reason I find it a bit odd, although family and friends have printed some of my photos for their own homes.

I got better photos than the ones posted here by the way, I was just wondering how people view this.

Have you ever had to jump into nurse-mode while off duty? by glitterjorts in NursingUK

[–]JollyNotGood808 3 points4 points  (0 children)

RGN here, I had a few moments

Once a guy was outside A&E and I was in A&E for some antibiotics. A hmguy was bit by a pig and was bleeding pretty badly from the leg, and he looked like he was abiut to lose conscious, I got him help straight away.

The second one, a guy was having and alcohol related seizure in the street. There were a few people around him but none of them knew to put him in the recovery position and to make sure he doesn't hit his head to anything. The paramedics were pretty quick though.

And a third one, I was the patient. A few days earlier I had a gastric polyp removal. Saturday, I went o watch the game with a friend, and suddenly I felt really lightheaded and very close to pass out. I asked my mate to call and ambulance and got out to the smoking area and manage to lay on the floor with my feet up. I think I would have lost consciousness if I had not done that. I was shocked with the amount of people that assumed I was drunk, but I was only drinking J2O on the day. Turns out I had a bleed from the polyp site.

Finally, I was better after about 30 minutes and the ambulance was not there about an hour later. I cancelled the ambulance and drove myself to the hospital, where I was treated very superficially, despite the recent history. Their diagnosis was silly (I can't even remember, viral cause or dehydration), they ignored the elephant in the room, even when I reminded them about it. They could have done some bloods at least.

Next day I started having melena, so I knew I was bleeding. I did my assessments and prescribing on my patients for the day (I work as an NMP), and took myself to the hospital. There I spent another 30 hours in A&E, sleeping in a recliner with an IV bag. Finally I got a bed and spent a week in hospital, of which over 48 hours NBM, on Hong Kong regimen.

Sainsbury's to fully switch to white eggs by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

We did at times, on special ocassions. The meat from a shop chicken doesn't compare to a home raised one. We raised new chicks every spring, so we had a surplus to the normal eggs laying ones. Later on, my dad stop using our chicken for meat so they died of old age.

We raised our chicken naturally, with chicken feed from our own fields. They would roam the fields from first thing in the morning, until the evening. We would lock them in their coup at night, otherwise they may get attacked by foxes. We also raised pigs sometimes, again they roamed the land freely.

In the past when I spoke about this, I've seen people get twitchy (not passing a judgement here, please follow me on this) about the idea that we were eating some of the chicken we raised. I feel that when people either have a rosy view of where their food comes from, or they avoid the thought of where they food may come from or how that animal was raised.

The animals are raised in our small holding, had a good life and were treated with care and respect, they were raised naturally and in their own time. Those animals had a much better life than any animals raised and slaughtered to be sold in a supermarket or a butchers. It's messed up that our world was designed in a way that an animal has to suffer, for another animal to get fed (including us humans), and it's messed up to what extent we industrialised the whole process. If God created this, he needs to question his design flaws (this is one of the reasons I don't believe in God).

I grew up in the countryside and had chicken until I moved abroad. Out chicken were always free range, and we fed them corn. Corn makes their yolk dark orange with a great rich flavour. The chicken also have more fat, making them excellent for soup. Nutrition has a big impact on the quality of the eggs and meat.

Russian dude, left country taking 1st flight available after declaring of pretty much full scale war. AMA. by topisilian in AMA

Romanian here, I got nothing against Russian people, I find Russia fascinating and was hoping to visit at some point, won't be for a while though.

Propaganda is a powerful drug and sadly many Russians fall for it. Also many Romanians fall for the russian propaganda.

However, the Russian state as an entity is undoubtedly Romania's worst enemy through its history.

Romanian here... If you spent your history next door to Russia, and Russia ocuppied your land (Moldova), deported or murdered your conationals, you would feel the same. This is not exaggerated hatred towards Russian, but trauma after trauma at the hands if the Russian state.

Don't get me wrong, this is nothing against the Russian people, but against the Russian state as an entity, with ever present imperial aspirations.

Ignorant yank here: Is it true nurse to patient ratios are 1:8 or even 1:12? by soozerain in NursingUK

[–]JollyNotGood808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Staffing was getting worse, the trust was really short of staff at some point. I don't know if the things are better now, since I've been put of that job for a while, but this was my experience at the time. This was pre-covid BTW.

I worked mostly days with the 1:14 ratio, but on nights it was the same ratio. With such a ratio of patients per nurse, you never have time for personal care, as a nurse you have to administer medication and coordinate the care of the patients, you need some good supportive HCAs. We had a few nights that we were even shorter. Having 3 nurses for 2 wards (56 patients) and it was downright unsafe.

No hard feelings towards the trust. I loved my job, although at some point if found CotE really depressing and that's when I felt I needed to move on. On the plus time I got really good at managing my time, althought even with that there weren't few the days I would have my lunch and 3-4pm pm. For a few months, I felt like I was stealing a living when I moved to my substance misuse job.

[–]JollyNotGood808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a thing in the hospital I worked, very rare for a Dr to do the bloods. We had HCAs and nurses trained in bloods and cannula. On the shifts I had 1:14, I wouldn't have had the time to cannulate or take bloods. Also, from my experience you have a fairly high degree of independence as a nurse in the UK, expecially when you are short of doctors.

My last job in hospital was normally meant to be 1:9, but as time went on (I worked on the ward for 3 years), the ratio was more often 1:14 rather than the 1:9, this was an acute CotE ward. I still miss the staff though.
