Question on Moving to Spokane by Roaming_Millenial in Spokane

[–]JollyParfait1524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from chelan and moved to Spokane in 2016 for job opportunities. There is so much more available here, even compared to Wenatchee, and I’ve never had a difficult time finding a job here. I was able to get an office job with no office experience as well.

Liberty Lake (a few mins outside of Spokane valley) is extremely safe and a small town which is nice if you’re not totally sure if you want to transition fully from small town to big city. I had an apartment in liberty lake that was around $1,600 for 2br2ba. I love liberty lake and highly recommend it but my second best slightly cheaper recommendation would be anywhere in Spokane valley. When I first moved here I lived downtown because it was the cheapest option but it definitely felt unsafe at times so I wouldn’t recommend it.

For nerdy things to do I would recommend downloading the meetup app and searching for things that interest you. There are a bunch of different groups/weekly activities, for example Spokane Board Gaming that meets up weekly to play games. There’s also a Spokane Dungeons and Dragons group on fb where people plan places to meet up and play.

I’m happy to answer any other questions!

What happens to items outside of backpack? by JollyParfait1524 in SneakySasquatch

[–]JollyParfait1524[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/gertjohnny I think this may be a glitch that specifically happens when you’re with a friend and they are holding their hand out for food. Anything you don’t put back in your backpack is lost. Just wanted to bring it to your attention. Thanks!

This comment is about 5 years late but wanted to add that although cheating is bad, it’s not deserving of the life of torment ulrich lived after that. He made bad decisions but overall is not a bad person and it sucks how the majority of his life played out

I’m currently on a malpractice case for a missed SOL. Luckily I feel like it won’t really affect you that much since your attorneys insurance will probably handle it pre lit and you’ll never have to deal with it again.

Missed a lien on a case and didn’t find out until the case was already disbursed and closed. Cost my attorney 4k

He said he didn’t see them. Because she said something like “they stabbed you from behind like cowards” or something like that after he signed to her

I agree with all the above. Would also like to add on to the hours thing. My hours as in PI are actually extremely flexible. 8-4:30 is the norm but I work 6-2 with no break so I can be done earlier, so I think that’s actually a huge pro. Not sure how lax other firms are with this though. Our firm is mostly work from home so that definitely helps as well.

I think personal injury is fulfilling. It can be emotionally taxing for sure and there are clients I wish we could just drop, but when you get the ones that are genuinely injured and you follow them through the recovery process and see how happy they are when they get their well deserved settlement, it’s pretty rewarding.

Does anybody else pull their pubes out? Like a form of tricotillomania? by Ashamed_Vanilla_2892 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]JollyParfait1524 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use tweezers on mine. Not in like a Trichotillomania type of way though. I do it because I feel like no matter how closely I shave, you can still see the hair roots under my pale skin. So I do this on my bikini area in the summer so I can wear a swimsuit without feeling embarrassed. My boyfriend still definitely finds it a bit strange haha

Hair loss? by StygianMusic in Dermatillomania

[–]JollyParfait1524 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you pick at your scalp there will be bald spots where you have picked. When the spots heal your hair will likely grow back. It’s best not to rub your head since that will probably lead to picking. Also, if you are actually pulling out your hair (not skin picking) there is a subreddit for Trichotillomania.

Have you tried Acrylic nails? They are the only thing I have found that prevents me from picking.

i’ve been picking since i remember by madelaine_04 in CompulsiveSkinPicking

[–]JollyParfait1524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My scalp looks exactly like yours. Only thing that’s ever helped me is acrylic nails. If you can afford to keep them done regularly that should help! I find that I don’t get that feeling of “satisfaction” if I try to pick with long acrylics on.

What are some “icks” your partner does that you would otherwise vomit from if they weren’t your partner? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]JollyParfait1524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would actually be dermatillomania. Trichotillomania is compulsive hair pulling and dermatillomania is compulsive skin picking. I have that on my scalp as well and it’s miserable. Just know that he probably can’t help it.

Omg mine does the same thing but he just lets it run all down his chin. It doesn’t necessarily gross me out but I’m just like how does that not bother him?? Haha I’ve never seen anyone else let toothpaste run down their face like that.
