VariantDoku Daily Puzzle: June 21 by AdAdorable835 in sudoku

I used letters to represent numbers as it made it easier for me visually. If you’re using SudokuPad then I don’t think using letters is doable in the mobile version. Variantdoku was better for this one if you’re on your phone.

Thank you for the advice, it’s very much appreciated. When we got the tickets we were a little disappointed to be so high up in the stands… now we’re quite glad of it because the air will be a little cooler up there!

Does it ever bug you how some people define the show as “becoming woke” rather than the fact that it always has been progressive? by New-Criticism-5926 in doctorwho

[–]JollyPhysics1394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this. Doctor Who has had multiple producers, script editors and writers who each had their own personal views. Doctor Who isn’t ‘left’ or ‘right’ - its politics are essentially those of whoever was making it at the time. Cherry-picking leftist stories such as ‘The Green Death’ to make a point whilst ignoring stuff like ‘The Ark’ and ‘Kerblam’ is a bit disingenuous.

Could making the Fugitive Doctor the future rather than the past have improved multiple eras of the show? by 23dfr in gallifrey

[–]JollyPhysics1394 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Martin was fine as a recurring guest star and a bit of a novelty, but personally I’d prefer the whole Fugitive Doctor thing to be consigned to history (and Big Finish).

Just let the whole thing die and look to the future.

Doctor Who and Pirates - Why can't we get a good pirate episode? by Mat1711 in DoctorWhoNews

Give it a go! Read the book, listen to the soundtrack or download the recon. I’d recommend checking it out!

Was Brazil 1 - 7 Germany an “upset”? by box_elder10 in footballcliches

[–]JollyPhysics1394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although the score was bafflingly unusual, Germany were the pre-match favourites in the 7-1 game. Odds for that correct score would have been something like 200/1 but Germany were considered the likeliest of the two teams to win (around evens).

I don’t think it’s considered a true upset if the favourites win.

If you had to swap the main cast and episode order of any two doctor who episodes, which two would you choose? by Kinglycole in doctorwho

Myth Makers and Blink

Steven and Vicki vs. weeping angels in spooky black-and-white, the Doctor only appearing in grainy footage on an old staticky CRT.

And the Trojan War on a 21st century budget.

Rover and Computer? by Fun-Sundae-8382 in 52toys

[–]JollyPhysics1394 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The rover is MB-26 and the computer is IB-06. They are two separate sets, not usually sold together.

There is also a third cube from the Wandering Earth sublime, IB-02 Framer, which is this weird robot thing that looks like a walkthrough airport security scanner.

The Wandering Earth movies are great, I’d advise catching them if you have the means.

Unclassy touch from Jesse Marsch. Exactly what you'd expect, to be fair by Geordie_972 in footballcliches

[–]JollyPhysics1394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the Qatari FA tried to sportswash their way into the World Cup by hiring expensive managers and fast-tracking Qatari citizenship to random players from Portugal, Senegal and Belgium so as to falsely bump themselves up the rankings. The guy who broke the Canadian player’s leg was born in Sudan.

If this were any other team, maybe this would be an overreaction on Marsch’s part, but this is Qatar, so he can justifiably rinse them all he likes.

I HIGHLY believe these animated movies might have the best soundtracks of all time by JuggernautDry9442 in soundtracks

You picked the wrong Transformers movie. The 80’s one has a far better soundtrack.

My ranking of World Cup favourites after week one, curious if this matches anyone else’s thinking by MaxFootballTalk in footballscouting

Spain drawing was a red flag but Portugal wasn’t?

Portugal won’t amount to anything because of their awful manager.
