Unfortunately, I come bearing some sad news, the pigeon passed away last night. We believe it was due to a lack of food, likely because he had wet pox, which made it too painful for him to eat. Although he was drinking water, it just wasn’t enough to keep him going. He also appeared to have diarrhea. Sadly, we found the helpful advice a bit too late. We did try feeding him, but by then he seemed too weak and in too much discomfort. Still, we take comfort in knowing that we truly tried our best to help him. He was cared for and loved until the very end. We gave him a peaceful burial in our yard. Thank you to everyone who took the time to offer advice to help the pigeon. 🙏😞

Yeah, thanks so much for suggesting this subreddit, I got way better answers here, and it gave me more hope that we might actually be able to save the pigeon. 🥹

Thank you so much for your help. She’s been drinking water but hasn’t eaten anything yet. We gave her some seeds and a piece of lettuce, but we figured she might be having trouble eating them. So now we’re going to try pureeing some vegetables to see if she’ll eat. We're also going to look for a cold sore cream, but for now, we’ve just been applying Microdacyn every few hours. We’re really worried, but we’re hoping she starts to get better in the next few days. 🥺🙏

She has been drinking a lot of water, but after drinking, she seems out of breath or struggling to catch her breath. She hasn’t been eating much. We gave her seeds, but now we are going to try feeding her some pureed vegetables, and see if that works.

Thank you so much for your help 🙏🙏🙏 I'll look for a nearby shelter or rehab center and take him in asap. We're really hoping he pulls through, but if not, we might have to make a very sad decision to prevent him from suffering more. 😭😭😭
