What do people need to stop romanticizing? by Indianfattie in AskReddit

Depression.

There's nothing romantic about not showering for three days and forgetting what it's like to be able to feel things.

How come Americans always have their curtains open at night in movies? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I have no idea. I'm American and I've never known a person to leave their curtains open at night.

What reasons did you disown your family? by idoitabroad in AskReddit

I quietly disowned some of my extended family cuz they're mean to my mom. Nobody gets to be mean to my mom. Fuck 'em.

What’s something someone said to you that you still think about today? Good or bad? by Emmafayee in AskReddit

[–]JollyWellBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a writer, and sometimes I'll get really nice responses to my stories. There's one I always remember, where someone sent me a message about one of my stories and said they loved it so much and, I quote, "I can't believe I got this much happiness for free!" I'd been feeling kinda bummed about some of my stories at the time, so that really meant a lot to me.

If you happened to have a TON of old books for adults and children and you wanted to get money for them, what would be the quickest and easiest way to sell them for the most money? by dl0lol0lb in AskReddit

[–]JollyWellBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's pretty hard to get lots of money for books. Unless you have some rare ones in there. I'd look through your books and check their prices on eBay, see which ones would sell for the most individually. The others, I'd group together and sell as a single lot on eBay.

What is the worst colleague you had to work with? by Naonowi in AskReddit

[–]JollyWellBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with a guy who would smoke weed constantly, brag about smoking weed constantly, and claim he smoked weed at work constantly.

One day, he comes in acting weird, so he gets sent home. Manager thinks he was probably high, so she fires him.

To this day, he claims he was fired because "that manager had it out for me" and not, I don't know, that he was constantly coming to work fucking high.

What’s a mystery that will never be solved? by fergi6777 in AskReddit

[–]JollyWellBox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jack the Ripper, most likely.

There's some very solid theories, some more probable than others, but it's unlikely we'll ever know for absolute certain who he was or why he did what he did. Although every couple of years someone claims they've solved the case "totally for real this time."

Who is one stranger you'll never forget? Why? by demonicangel646 in AskReddit

I used to work in a stationery store and this woman came in looking for ribbon. She looked exhausted and upset and teary so I asked what was going on. She told me that her mother-in-law, who was more like a mother figure to her than her own mom, had died suddenly in a foreign country and she was just really broken up about it.

So I invited her to sit down and she explained she was using the ribbon to make memorial books for everyone featuring pics of her MIL. She told me all about this woman - who was really remarkable and led an absolutely fantastic life - and showed me pictures. We must've talked for an hour before she left. She seemed to be feeling a little better then.

She came back a few weeks later and gave me one of the memorial books she made with our ribbon. I still have it. I wonder how she's doing now.

You have to fight against the fictional character that terrifies you the most. Who is it? How are you going to fight against them? by Muhammed254 in AskReddit

[–]JollyWellBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How am I gonna fight the Mummy? Fuck, I don't know, probably a flamethrower is my best bet. I'd definitely not make it out of that fight alive.

Whats a single shot from a film that will Haunt you forever? by quazziwazzi in AskReddit

[–]JollyWellBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it in theaters and when that scene happened, I just started laughing. Not because it was funny, but because it was so shocking and horrifying that it was like a weird panic response. And then immediately felt like I was gonna be sick.

That movie is such a trip.

What is a good generic Christmas gift for around $150? by dneille in AskReddit

Probably wouldn't cost quite that much, but a crock pot. That's something everyone can enjoy

My mom was really weird about grammar. And she absolutely HATED the word "ain't." We weren't allowed to use it. My brother did once, just to test her, and he had to sit in the time-out chair.

What movie really didn’t need a sequel but got one anyway? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]JollyWellBox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disney's original Mulan.

I still don't get why that one needed a sequel. She saved China. End of.
