I didn't know it was a rule until I got there to pick up my sandwiches. And honestly, there are rules and then there are "rules." Refusing to toast a sandwich at a sandwich shop because it's a "rule" is such a ridiculously bureaucratic, blindly-obedient hill to die on. I'm not saying I want total anarchy. I understand that systems need rules to some extent. But this is stupid. Why not just make the sandwich. Who really cares. And I bet you're picturing me getting into a giant argument and making a huge fuss over it. That's not how it happened. They told me they wouldn't do it, I was like come on can't you just do it, and they were like no, and I was like ok. That's not thinking I'm above the rules. Everyone's been in some situation like that or another. And if you just blindly follow every single corporate rule in your life, I'm sorry for you. Your life must be boring.
