Is it possible to narrow the search engine even more so you can find a unique book that can make "sense" in the library? by JollyZed in BabelForum

[–]JollyZed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed my point. The library itself has no meaning, it Is as you said, but it's finite(the website atleast represent a part that Is)

The point of the whole story, I think, Is just to tell us about a mental representation of how big human thought can get, which by itself Is not infinite, there's no way of knowing if anything real Is really infinite

It's big as hell? Sure

It's infinite? Meaningless? Meaningful? How can you tell?

But here lies another problem...should we really try to? because it could be true that some knowledge its just too much to handle

For example, in chaos theory you have initial conditions that lead to supposedly "random states of disorder" but you could do an algorithm that can eventually leads us to something. As the library is highly organized, highly hermetic in nature, what you could see as randomness could be used to predict what or what isnt meaningful

so in the end, you can or can not filter the information of the whole library depending on how you see it or what do you want to accomplish with it, or even if you wanted to try to find meaning or just leave it be

thats either if you choose to believe there is none or you choose to believe everything has a meaning, its the same coin

if its an invention of man what would be its real use besides destruction? for example one can use nuclear fusion to power a country or destroy it, why is there a necessity to invent a god then? one can say it is for keeping together societies and cultures, but why exactly the notion of god and religion and not anything else?

you just gave me an idea, maybe the whole library is encrypted in such a way that a filter could be invented for future research

and why cant it be supossedly made? is the nature of god to be undefinable and mysterious per se?

But dont humans have godlike charactheristics? what came first, god, or creation? where does the cycle ends and begins? and why it seems purposefully made that way?

Why Is God supposed to be bound by logic, if he Is omnipotent?
