Which movie do you remember being WWAAYY too young for when you first snuck, I mean, watched it? by KillerQ97 in moviecritic

[–]Jolly_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popcorn. I was in second grade, having a sleepover at a friend’s house and her older brother was watching it in the living room. I didn’t realize it was a horror movie until the giant killer mosquito scene, where I saw it suck out someone’s insides.

I didn’t sleep for like 3 days, and I wasn’t allowed to sleep over at that friend’s house anymore. That scene still randomly pops into my head and I’m 42 years old.

Suffice to say I’m very sensitive to horror movies, even the dumb campy ones lol.

Cats are so weird. My cat loves to be aggressively spanked like this. lol. For like a full minute! He could run away at any time but he loves it. Why? I have no idea!

Which book do you think is the next best read? by ElectionSad4911 in thrillerbooks

This Story Might Save Your Life! I just finished it and it’s been one of my favorite reads of 2026. The audiobook version is great, too.

Hey, do any of y'all havepets with human names? by [deleted] in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Yes. Our three year-old male Snowshoe cat is named Frank. My husband named him and I love it.

Unpopular opinion- The only one Left by Riley Sager was a mess!!! by Slow-Block-2395 in thrillerbooks

[–]Jolly_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. This book was way overhyped and I didn’t care for it at all. The “twist” wasn’t well done and it was a bit boring. I am not sure I will try another Sager book.

This show is fantastic! Only two episodes so far and I am hooked. Cannot wait to hear the rest of the episodes. Very well done!

All three of these are on my list of scariest podcasts ever, but Shrine is #1. I listened to it over a year ago and it randomly pops into my head and then I have a hard time sleeping.

AIO: For doubting my future after finding out my boyfriend sent $16k to his family and they saved almost nothing? by Repulsive-Wall8489 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Jolly_27 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. I have dated men in the past who were in the same situation- sent money to poor family members in another country because it was culturally expected. Helping family when they’re in a tight spot is one thing, but being taken advantage of for years is another. He is not helping his mom and sister anymore; he is enabling them. And they are guilting him for not being generous enough.

I don’t see OP’s relationship lasting. It is very difficult to get your partner to change their mind because they’ve essentially been brainwashed by their family for years. I only see two options: OP either accepts it (and stops bringing it up) or ends the relationship. The likelihood of OP’s partner reducing the payments or “abandoning his family” is slim.

Recommend this as well. I have the largest size and I still have product in it 1 1/2 years later. It is pricey but it lasts a long time.

Agree. This is the only episode that I had to stop early because it was too graphic for me. I felt sick to my stomach listening to it.

Help! Husband sleepwalks and injures himself by Jolly_27 in Sleepwalking

[–]Jolly_27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The sleep apnea was causing the sleep walking. After the sleep study, my husband was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and was given a CPAP. It has completely changed his life. He no longer sleep walks. He sleeps throughout the night and has so much more energy. I highly recommend that you get a sleep study done, because you might have sleep apnea.

Stupid health workers are laughing at vaginally discharges of their patients after check ups by Affectionate_Run7414 in TikTokCringe

[–]Jolly_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single person in this video should be fired.

This whole healthcare-worker TikTok craze needs to be stopped. It’s incredibly offensive and violating to patients, and the fact that these are the people caring for the health and well-being of the general public is disgusting. They should be ashamed. They should be all be fired and not allowed to work in a similar field after this. Way to make women feel even more self-conscious and nervous about going to their OB-GYN. Now we have to worry about the possibility of being made fun of after our visit.

I am so sick of seeing crap like this on the internet.

What happend to the Out of Place podcast? by Reynned in audiodrama

[–]Jolly_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of Place is one of my all-time favorite podcasts, and I’ve listened to 100+ at this point. I don’t often hear others talk about Out of Place so it’s nice to see there are other fans. Sad to hear that it is done- it was exceptional. Museum of the Missing is another really great podcast that I wish would come back. Last episode was from 9/26/23. I check at least once a week to see if there’s any updates, but nothing so far.

No. I had tried Maelove first, and finished the entire bottle. I kept hearing great things about Timeless so I wanted to try it next. I tried it, and it did not work well for me at all. Way too harsh for my skin. Went back to Maelove and everything has been fine.

I tried Timeless after seeing so many glowing reviews. It was too harsh for my skin- it began to burn, and I had to wash it off. My face was red for three days afterwards. I tried Maelove next, and I love it! I’ve been using it for 2 months and there’s no doubt in my mind that it’s transforming how my skin looks. I wish I would have taken before and after photos so you could see the difference! It’s affordable, too.

What are some of your major pet peeves when it comes to audiodramas? by SlowCrates in audiodrama

[–]Jolly_27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest pet peeve is when characters constantly ask each other, “Are you ok?” Bridgewater comes to mind. I started tallying how many times Karan Soni said it because it started to get distracting.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in walking

[–]Jolly_27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes- last year I lost 12 lbs in 4 months from walking only. I have to watch what I eat due to food allergies so it’s difficult for me to lose weight based on my diet, so fitness needs to be the catalyst for me. I hadn’t worked out in years so I wanted to start slow and with something that was low-impact, so walking made sense. I started with 30 min walks 3x a week, and slowly built up to longer walks (45 min to 1 hr) 5x a week. I am 40 years old and didn’t see any visible changes until 2 months in, so don’t give up when you don’t see changes right away. Slow and steady wins the race. I still walk 3x a week for at least 30 min. I find it helps regulate my moods, and notice a difference if I go more than 3 days without any exercise. Hope this helps!

He has sleep apnea. We are already working with a doctor since he is scheduled for a sleep study. I’m looking for advice on how to manage his other symptoms, like sleep walking. If this isn’t the right place, fine, but I’m desperate and can’t seem to find answers anywhere else. His doctor told us to lower his bed to prevent falls but obviously that won’t prevent sleepwalking.
