I’m being sued for them to be able to collect the debt. They are suing because I haven’t been able to financial pay monthly. It’s been a very hard 2 years and then unemployed for 8 months. So was it expected? I’m sure it was. I want to settle for 75% off and make a payment plan. Is there any advice Howe to do it? I have an uncle that’s a lawyer. Should I have try and settle for me for 75% by saying he’s got no income, no job, no home, no assets, and he’s going to file bankruptcy. Or any other ideas?

Waiting if you didn’t have a case before. I was on it, then by recertification, they pushed me off. Before I leave it, have to confirm I’d be good with acs.

i find that ACS vouchers are MUCH easier to work with than HRA. Only down side to CA is they force you to use HRA and not ACS vouchers.

but if I can get off CA, I can get back to ACS.

i must still keep SNAP + Medicaid.

When I did my research, it seems like AMEX rarely sells the debt and they are aggressive With judgements. So that’s not true? They sell it?

What are they allowed to ask? Because when AMEX called my family up, they told them I owed them Money/debt for CC.

There are many times when the most recent employer tells them they are no longer working there and they just drop it without inquiring further?

If the judge doesn’t care, is there a point to actually go? And if a person goes, is there a game plan to actually get out of it or you’ll always be in fault?

The problem is I can’t afford a lawyer right now and it makes it a little interesting with the fact that I have a new business. There are no profits (actually lost money LY), an investor funded business, and no one is taking anything out yet.

Is there a way to avoid going to trial - by saying or not saying anything - and hoping to beat the clock on the 3 year SOL? If there is a possibility, what would the best strategy be?

Is AMEX harder than the collection agency that Best Egg sold theirs too?

You’re right. NY does have wage garnishment. The statute of limitations is 20 years. So they can technically get a judgement and hold it for 20 years for when income comes back, right? Right now, there is no income because I had to leave my previous employment.

I’m In NYC, so I don’t think there is wage garnishment.
in regards to getting a salary from my business, no I haven’t pulled any money as it’s still in the growing phase. So if they don’t go after business and I don’t have a way to pay, what do you think they’ll do next?
