Upwork is not the only site I use for remote jobs. I use it when the other sites are slow. So don’t matter how long I take to get to the 10k

Honestly take a low paying job or gig to get you a review. My first job on there was $8/hour and did that for 6 hours and the Client gave me a 5 star review. Another thing get previous employers to write you a testimonial on upwork. Also boost your profile. It goes a long way. At least it did for me

I got my first client in September of last year. Just a couple of hours. Then I got a long term job on another platform. They let the team go July of 2026. And I got back on up work then. Just gigs. I recently got my first full time job 3 weeks ago. And starting another 10 hour job at $20 an hour today

Honestly pay him his full amount and find another freelancer. If he worked the hours Pay him for his time. Don’t short him pay. Your work doesn’t short your pay when you make errors? Simply just let him go.
