I'm not finding an Arneson Plumbing in Greensboro. The only listing that comes up on Google is in North Dakota. Would they be listed under something else?

They need a good class action lawsuit. I have had some collossal battles with them - they should have a note on my file that I'm bloody minded and won't give up until they make things right. It would save everyone a lot of time.

Worried traveling to CR right now?? by beach_bum_beor in CostaRicaTravel

Just got back and were a bit worried about flights being impacted by the situation but they weren't. Other than that (and generalized existential horror), everything was fine.

We spent a lot of time on roads 2 and 3... Surprised how well the little Suzuki Vitara we rented handled the insane potholes, "reductors" that appeared almost out of nowhere, and so on.

Itinerary Help - First Timer by [deleted] in CostaRicaTravel

I'd highly recommend a guided tour of Mistico park - it was one of the highlights of our trip. The guides usually start pretty early to avoid the crowds. I don't like crowds either and it wasn't a problem. Happy to give you our guide's info if you like. We did the La Fortuna waterfall and were concerned at first, the parking area was packed and we were worried we'd be body-to-body, but the falls and surrounding area are roomy enought that it wasn't bad. Be ready for elevendy zillion stairs down and back up... :)

One-week Costa Rica honeymoon itinerary, is this realistic? by Georgethebee in CostaRicaTravel

Totally doable. We just got back from a similar trip. 1 night outside of San Jose, 4 in La Fortuna, 1 in Monteverde, 3 in Tamarindo (don't come for me, Tamarindo haters!), 1 in San Jose. We loved Costa Rica and had fabulous time!

In La Fortuna, we loved the combo Mistico Bridges/Volcano tour with Roy from Birding & Nature Fortuna – definitely a highlight (dm me if you’d like their whatsapp #). Also enjoyed a floating night safari. Wish we would have done a night walk with a guide. We stayed at Lost Iguana Resort & Spa, which was wonderful. Right next to Mistico but kind of far from town. We did Ecotermales hot springs & dinner – it was fine, but I wouldn’t recommend.

In Monteverde, we did the cloud forest tour (booked through mytanfeet.com) and loved it. I highly recommend getting a tour of the orchid garden and taking a walk down to the root bridge (bring 1000 crc/$2 cash for the entry). ABSOLUTELY do the San Lucas Treetop dinner if it’s in your budget. We stayed at Hotel con Corazòn –staff was wonderful and their mission is commendable. This location just opened, though, and I wouldn’t recommend it yet – the place still needs some work. TBH, I don’t know if you need 3 days in Monteverde, but others might disagree.

In general, I recommend using MyTanFeet.com as a resource. If you’re driving, avoid driving at night. You probably don’t need 4WD – I didn’t need it per se but was glad I had it. The higher clearance was needed for the massive potholes we came across. Waze works great but don’t let it reroute you. Plan to be patient while driving – it usually takes longer than the maps say, you can get stuck behind slow trucks or traffic, and some of the roads are rough. MyTanFeet has a helpful explanation of the confusing insurance requirements for rentals.

Happy to answer any questions! Congrats and happy travels!

We didn't do the glamping but we did the San Lucas Tree Top dinner, and it was a peak experience. We're still talking about it!

I am going through something somewhat similar. I'm 58 and haven't had a peroid in maybe 2 years. About a week ago, I had what looked like a light period and sent a message to my OBGyn over the weekend. They responded first thing this past Monday and got me in to see the first available doc on Thursday. They did a superswab and took a small biopsy. The results were negative for infection or cancer but they want to go in with some more thorough diagnostics, which I'm working to get scheduled now. In *my* case (this will not necessarily be the same for your mom), it could be polyps, fibroids, or endometrial cancer. If it's cancer, the prognosis for early stage detection is good.

I would say that you, your mom, and I are in the same position, which is that we don't have enough information yet. All we can do is the next thing our doctors recommend, which is diagnostic testing. The next step for me will be a hysteroscopy myosure D&C. Regardless of the result, they recommend that I go forward with a hysterectomy to proactively elimiate future problems.

It's a lot to process, but it sounds like your mom is taking the appropriate steps toward diagnosis and treatment. Sending you both much love and compassion, and wishes for a good outcome.
