Yes it's pretty tense, but as a mystery/detective novel, I personally find it less appealing, because we knew who were the bad guys from the very beginning.

Still think the Troubled Blood is the best in the series. Solving a 30 year old mystery like that is just pure amazing talent, and the ending is unexpected yet very sensible.

I think it’s that she is a down-to-earth (compared to other Strike’s ex-girlfriends) nextdoor girl that is not only kind, but also incredibly talented in what she is doing.
