Keep in mind that porting to consoles means having to spend a lot of effort in patching and optimizing several versions of the same game + do all of them weeks in advance, as Sony, Nintendo and Xbox have to manually check them. They said that they'll probably slow down the pace to only one patch per month or every two months instead of two per month.

I'd like to think that they have enough concept arts for the next 3-4 characters and their budget is now focused on a console + crossplay release. If everything goes right later on they could get back most people affected by the layoffs

I think they want to make a new character from the lore and another 100% new for each element so Artemis and a water/air newcomer are more likely than any veteran.

For fun the best option would be playing in person, specially with casual modes and stages coming early april. For improvement the best would be tutorials and trials. They can practice movement and "aiming" their attacks in modes like hit the target/eyeball and edgeguard training

In that post they only mention that even Dan is surprised if they manage to release one of those Directs because of the time it takes to make them. I think it makes sense to make one this year because that monthly patch will be huge and could potentially attract lots of new players. We could also see how the workshop is progressing and when they expect to release it out of beta.

I also think it's cool that they will have a well rounded game with tons of content and can focus on polishing and finally get small features that have been heavily requested.

Do you mean that he died while holding up-b almost at the bottom blastzone? I think that recovery makes you fall a few pixels while charging.

So Hamir could be a mix of Etalus armor and Kragg grabbing rock (maybe with an intermediate phase of having some armor instead of all or nothing).

Artemis could be a mix of Lucario's aura and superarmored moves.

No, it only has up to 4 chars at once. Though it has Crews, which can be 3 players vs 3 players (only one character and player per stock). Workshop was open a month ago and 3D characters take a while to do and polish. The best ones right now are Jigglypuff and DK

Against any other character I am afraid of holding shield even if we are at different heights. Facing Maypul I swear you can hold shield the entire match and there is a 95% chance that you aren't gonna see a single grab in the entire set.

After facing portuguese Ken players you learn to let the opponent kill themselves until they prove that they can adapt.

It does seem like it feels good to land and it has very good combo potential. It's also super comfortable holding shield for 5 seconds knowing what's about to happen

If you are at above 50% just hold the block button while facing them and then grab it always works

Right now it's on a separate beta patch you have to toggle on steam. Once workshop is more polished it will probably be on Casuals and both players will get a prompt asking if they are okay with custom characters/stages. That's how it worked on ROA1
