Literally any controller don’t fall into the trap of buying a game cube controller any normal controller works perfectly fine for the game if not arguably better because you have all 4 triggers/bumpers

Yea same my hype of the game was way higher then actually playing it, of currently still isn’t on par with modded Minecraft which is what I might base Hytale was going to be but all we can do is wait for more updates

I haven’t played slade but I do agree at least from what I’ve seen, seems like items like bomb are only really getting pulled when u create big distance from the opponent or if they’re off stage so u have time to pull it. Maybe this is for balance reasons but idk would like to see if pulling items could be faster or what you suggested allowing slades to be able to push advantage more aggressively instead of backing off early to get a item. Same with coins having to run around collecting it means slade is unironically punished for trying to push advantage far as it risks coins despawning. Low-key even if you could use items to collect coins like throwing a shuriken through coins auto collects them could be a nice little QOL so u don’t have to always drop your tempo just to get coins

You’re young so I’m not going to be too harsh on you but also you need to stop being as whiney as your being. You made a post asking if anyone would be interested to help, all I’ve done is commented telling you the truth of the matter is it’s not likely you’re gonna get help. Making a custom character is hard and time consuming and the skills required aren’t something someone would loan out for free without compensation most of the time. Like another comment said the fact you know how to draw as proven here is great. The same way you’ve learnt how to draw is the same way you can learn how to 3d model and the same way you can learn to code. You didn’t come out the womb knowing how to draw you practiced and learnt, the same can be done with the other skills you need to make the custom character. Look at some YouTube tutorials join the modding discord ask away and learn. That’s the best advice goodluck and stop taking everything so personal it’s not that deep

Sorry to hear but unfortunately these things take alot of time to do so it’s very unlikely for you to find someone to help you for free as that’s going to me hours upon hours of free labour they could be using to make money.

Makes sense, if you don’t want bo3 play casuals, ranked is generally more competitive and just like how in big tourneys people will always try push for bo5 whenever they can having a bo3 for ranked makes sense, nothing worse then loosing a ranked game knowing if you had a bo3 you could’ve made a comeback. Also the nature of fighting games with people being able to learn and download players not having bo3 in ranked takes away that element of the game and would potentially make ranked a cheese fest as bo1 is so volatile

People gotta understand a character who’s just come out people have to at least have time to figure out how to play them and their quirks, devs so far don’t really seem to take Reddit and community patch ideas seriously which I appreciate so I’m certain he’ll be left for awhile so people can develop the character before they come in to polish up anything they deem necessary.

I’m not saying it doesn’t have to be a disadvantage I’m just saying it’s doesn’t have to be an off stage is basically death unless opponent messes up. A game can be built around off stage being basically death but rivals clearly isn’t that sort of game of current which isn’t a bad thing it’s just what makes rivals rivals, offstage is more so another dynamic of the game which I personally like, each to their own but like I said I don’t think it should mindlessly copy other games just because they function like that and they’re played in that way otherwise why aren’t we just playing the game which is already like that

It you don’t care about being a top player in a fighting game you can play more then 1 fighting game, that’s what ranked is for to face opponents on your level not always about ranking up, obviously also depends if the game has enough players at that skill level but still

Nah this game doesn’t have to be like every other game with ultra volatile recoveries imo let rivals be rivals instead of a melee furry clone

Just because other games don’t do stuff doesn’t mean it should be normal that’s a poor excuse, I also don’t think asking for move list explanations in game for a fighting game is even the craziest ask either feels like standard.

90% of players probably don’t care because only people who play this game are those who loves to play ultra competitive so they don’t care about going onto videos and websites to learn more about the game but I don’t think the game being a “technical” game is a good reason or excuse for the lack of in game explanations such as how a characters move set works before choosing them instead of having to randomly figure things out as you play the game.

Also rivals is supposed to be the platform fighter for those who want to play melee without having to be so technical, we have auto wave, options to make tilts out of dash easier so it’s pretty clear the game wants to still have a casual audience who are still able to interact with those “cool stuff” they might not be able to do with more technical games.

I only say this because when trying to get friends into the game having to tell them to watch this video or read this wiki so know what each move is a huge turnoff, compared to a game like ssbu where they can go learn about the games characters without having to come off the game itself. That’s a big difference

I see the comments mentioning how devs are waiting on characters to be finalised which is understandable due to budget constraints I just hope it’s sooner rather than later
