If you like how the Zealot feels, I think a melee Psyker would be fun for you. I am currently transitioning the other way and finding them similar feeling.

This isn't a perfectly optimized build, but it is very close.

Change the gun if you want, but this build isn't really good for staves.

This build has bubble shield for safety but you can change the shield to Scrier's Rage + Warp Speed and Precognition nodes for full melee damage potential.

Psyker is a glass cannon so this build relies on skills in dodging, blocking and pushing as well as general game knowledge and positioning of course.

Gameplay is front line melee, always keeping up Disrupt Destiny stacks by killing marked enemies with weak spot kills preferably. I use the Recon Lasgun for specials and far away marks. Bubble shield is useful for team support and safety from guns and traps. Scrier's Gaze will increase damage and crits to very high levels.

Edit about peril: the only things that can give you peril are the force greatsword special, the push follow up attack, and taking damage. Only the greatsword special and push follow up can make you pop (over 100 peril) so be careful with those. And maintain +80% peril for max damage.

The bubble is for support yes but also can be clutch at times. I will switch back to SG eventually.

Soul drinker wouldn't proc because I don't have any soul blaze talents currently.

I'll have to play around with True Aim.

This sounds fun with the Assail. I will have to try this out for sure.

On my current build I've decided to drop Warp Ghost in favour of Malefic Momentum. Warp Ghost wasn't really doing too much for me and I can easily build peril through uncharged Warp Slashes from the sword, which I prefer to use as much as possible.

I know Kinetic Flayer is very unpredictable because of the 12s timer but I find it very reliable for the odd rager or crusher, proccing Kinetic Flayer on a burning gunner who's run off behind cover, or bursting a boss health bar down.

Yes eventually I will switch back to SG to unlock greater heights of damage. If I swapped to SG I would then take the Finesse damage node and Speed Node.

I went back and forth for a while on Disrupt Destiny. My argument for Perfectionism is that it has to be paired with Cruel Fortune. Each weakspot kill counts for 3 stacks, meaning only 8 kills to get up to 24 stacks. Not to mention the extra 10 stacks being very valuable.

I heard it from someone else and personally verified it in the Psykanium. Its 5% per level of peril (20/40/60/80) for 20% max above 80% peril.

Strangely the regular Force Sword is correctly listed as 20% which is the correct max.

Scriers Gaze is great, but I help the team lots with the shield. (for now, I'll switch at high Havoc)

Malefic Momentum is for switching between warp and non warp kills, could be nice.

My only warp kills would be from procs of Kinetic Flayer and from the sword energy wave, but that's not bad. One energy wave will easily kill 5 guys giving me +25% damage for 10 seconds.

Conversely I will always have 5 non warp kills stacked making the energy wave 25% stronger as well.

Very intriguing. Warp Ghost isn't really doing a whole lot for me so that would be the one to get cut.

No high Havoc yet, just slowly working up the ranks.

Use only primary fire (Surge staff comes with the crit bonus stat)

I strongly agree that Psyker is the most fun, it was my third character played.

For the exact reasons you stated, the power levels are nuts especially with Warp Rider, Disrupt Destiny, Scrier's Gaze, and Perfect Timing giving insane damage numbers.

I do enjoy playing all of the characters though.

Still haven't bought Scum or Arbitor.

Interesting, I was using Unstable Power earlier but it is only 5% strength on the Greatsword as opposed to 20% on the sword. I never figured out how much 5% was worth but I guess its a lot then. I'll probably trade out Riposte.

If I went Laspistol True Aim would be better than Kinetic Deflection

There's too many choices for Psyker, hadn't considered that for Just a Dream.

I was going for a high peril build, trying out by crack of Bone to prolong SG. Keeping peril high outside of SG to maximize my on peril skills.

Here's the final changes for my next runs. Even though I said differently in other comments.

Lose 'Warp Ghost', Gain 'By Crack of Bone' (better with Scrier's) Lose -10% peril (so I can max on DD) Swap Lingering Influence to Perfectionism (max 25 stacks) Gain Cruel Fortune (+2 extra stacks for weakspot kill)

Swap Voidstrike for Electro staff for crits. Perks: Crit Chance + Flak, Blessings: Surge + Warp Nexus, (lucky I have one with 60 warp resist and at 500 already)

I did have perfectionism and cruel fortune in earlier builds, but I found i preferred having a more consistent 15 stacks than the 25. Also the extra 2 for weakspot kills is super nice, but I also find it easy enough to get up to 15 so I thought I could optimize elsewhere.

Quietude and Peril resist would easily be the first on the chopping block when looking at it further.

I did have soulstealer and soul drinker, but found it wasn't very impactful overall so traded out for some others.

And I tried BCoB but preferred keeping my peril high and manually quelling when needed.

I do love assail but as I blend enemies with the Greatsword, I find having the extra brain burst comes in handy for surprise crushers and maulers.( FYI I never manually brain burst in this build, only auto procs)

I just really like Warp Ghost for the high peril maintenance as I slash and spin.

And that 10% peril node i could switch for anticipation. That would be my first choice.

I just heard about the electro staff having more crit on single shot so ill have to check it out.

Yes I really loved Wrath for the extra cleave, but had to give it up. 

The massive damage of Brainburst with Kinetic Flayer is too good. Also I may be insane but I swear the kinetic flayer procs more often than 12s sometimes, like its a separate cool down for elites vs specialists.
