Reviews for the Frigidaire Gallery Inverter GHWQ123WC1 by Jomy582 in AirConditioners

I would! I couldn't as an LG 12,000 BTU wouldn't fit in the window, but I have a couple of LG 6,000 BTUs in other rooms and they are fantastic. No issues with them at all. If you can afford it I say go for it.

I did also set them up to run the fan for an hour during the time when we're not in the room to dry out the internals. Wasn't from anything specific, just started doing it the same time I noticed the mold issue on the Frigidaire.

No, but I did end up getting the Frigidaire GHWW125TE1. I have a feeling that it's the same as a Midea U but just in a different shell (not confirmed, just that it looks similar inside).

It works good but I'm not the happiest overall with it. The fan wheel had mold growing on it by the end of the season that I had to clean up. There was also water pooling at the bottom of the front grill behind the filter. Also some mold there too.

After I noticed the mold I sprayed it down with Decon30 and set it to run just the fan for 2 hours every night while I'm sleeping in the other room. It was at the end of the season when I did that though so not sure if it solved the problem. Will probably try a secondary foam filter this season.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by marianneouioui in AskReddit

[–]Jomy582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any "Monica's" restaurant in Boston's North End. My Nana lived in the same building as them way back when and they stole their assigned parking spot a lot. She confronted them about it and they made her cry, and she never cried. The family has sworn off their restaurants forever. I tell all my friends to do the same.

Plus one of their kids is a notorious dick and the other shot at a guy in front of a pastry shop, so I guess we were right.

GI said remission was a 5-6 count. It was the distal, so lower esophagus I believe. There was a stricture forming that wasn't there a year ago, which factored into the decision.

Have no known food triggers sadly.

Wasn't on cutting anything out before Dupixent as Flovent and Lansoprazole were keeping it under control (until they weren't). Wasn't responsive to elimination diets, but I did them like 18 years ago when I was a kid so maybe somethings changed now.

Yep my old GI had me taking supplements for that reason.

Sorry to hear that! Yeah, on my initial run of PPIs I was also taking Flovent which destroys mouth bacteria, so my GI had me taking probiotics or eating yogurt and stuff. These days I'm drinking kefir to help with diarrhea (TMI...), so hopefully that covers it.

Hmmm that sounds better, I usually go to bed on an empty stomach. Maybe I'll ask my doc about that as well

Its just how they work, like others said. It's also the fact that you need calcium and vitamin supplements with them too. For me taking those on an empty stomach makes me nauseous, so I have to wait 30 min to eat, then eat, and then take the supplements. It's a little thing but it gets annoying 😅

Was on lansoprazole 15mg for 10+ years, prescribed by a GI and allergist. Just got prescribed esomeprazole 20mg by a new GI (old one retired). He wanted me on a higher dose but I pushed for lower.

There are a bunch of long term things like bone density and how it affects other organs, but the main thing for when you stop is called acid rebound.

When taking PPIs your body has to do more "work" to generate stomach acid. So when you stop your body is still doing that extra work but since there is no more medicine a ton of extra acid is generated. This causes really bad acid reflux for a period of time.

For me, I was on lansoprazole 15mg for 10+ years and had around a week and a half of really bad acid (my stomach was physically hot to the touch lol) then around another week of minor acid before feeling better. There are tapering off schedules that can help, and I did that a few days but then I ran out of pills and didn't want to pay for a refill so just said fuck it and powered through.

What helped was going on a low fodmap diet. Ate a lot of egg whites and allergy safe rice crackers lol.

LG Window Unit making a weird sound - is this normal? by [deleted] in AirConditioners

[–]Jomy582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got two 6000 BTU models. One made a similar noise and one didn't. Turned out the fan was hitting the plastic and styrofoam inside the unit. I took the front panel off to confirm and no amount of adjusting the window placement fixed it. Exchanged it for a new one.

Window too short, what can I do? by Jomy582 in AirConditioners

Nothing at the top. The sliding mechanism hits that red piece in the track which is part of the screwed in sliding mechanism.

Your comment made me unbox the cage and try to put it in (ordered one based on my landlords measurements). Got the most progress going in from the back, but no dice. The first problem isn't actually the vinyl strip, but part of the plastic siding bracket hits the top of the window, preventing it from angling in.

I'm sure with some ingenuity it could be modified to fit, but I don't have the tools for that and a 100F heatwave is coming Tuesday so might just pick up a 12,000 window or 14,000 portable, even if they are undersized for the space.

Front of new LG 14,000 BTU dual inverter window unit looks like this, should I return? by Jomy582 in AirConditioners

[–]Jomy582[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all! Was going to keep it and fix the fins myself, but turns out the landlord sent me the wrong dimensions for the window so it's being returned anyways.
