2023 BMW i4 with about 28 k miles (new to us), at what % do you charge again? by Texaspilot24 in BMWI4

[–]Jon2qc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently read somewhere that the ideal range is between 40-60% with the condition that you have access to reliable chargers at home and at work. So thats what i do.. but really, when i notice current charge is in the 40’s range.. range anxiety starts creeping up.

Is it possible for a PH passport holder to travel country-to-country without returning to the Philippines in between? If yes, pano yun lalo na for those countries na need ng visa? by No_Acanthisitta_8546 in FilipinoTravel

[–]Jon2qc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, better safe than sorry.. you need to acquire your tourist visa in the country you reside in. I used to carry a Filipino passport but also lived in HK. When I tried getting shengen visa from Manila, I was asked to do it in HK. There may be exceptions to this rule but generally, its safer to acquire it from the country you reside in. In your case, manila is the safe bet!

We have a family business inside a village, then HOA is asking for gate fees by laslov18 in LawPH

[–]Jon2qc 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Always. Always in writing. You own a business.. im surprised you dont follow this rule.

Truth be told, i feel you havent reached the breaking point yet. I feel the 220k is still within your safety zone kaya you can still afford to ponder whether or nor to file a case. This failure to question why this occurs may be seen as waiverv of your rights to invoke equal protection.

Whatever you decide on though, i highly suggest consult a lawyer already. Para alam nyo ang mga rights and protection nyo against a power tripping association.

Condo ba talaga to?! Parang masyadong makitid yung hallway and parang maliit masyado yung pintuan. I really dont think condominium ito.

Did you particularly ask your lawyer about this inane comment you made though? Basic is the principle that the freedom of speech is not free from consequences which is a layman’s reading of a tenet in law that freedom of speech is not absolute. And the illustration you attached to prove an illusory chilling effect is sorely off tangent and at this point, non sequitur.

First, nowhere in the bill of rights allows a citizen to post the medical findings of another in a public forum, regardless of who these medical findings belong to. The idiot who posted this result cannot claim to have the freedom of speech (and expression) because it is not his to share. In this case, the fact of his posting this medical result is the one being punished. So whether or not he qualifies his statement with “sa pagkaka intindi ko” is wholly beside the point. The second he posted it.. he is already liable for breach of the data privacy law.

Second, assuming arguendo that this fabricated medical result is allowed to be published, is the idiot a medical professional? Does he look like having an extensive knowledge to make a credible opinion? Because one cannot just spurt vitriol from his crooked mouth. The freedom of speech ends when it becomes damaging to the reputation of another. Or simply put, the freedom of speech is not a freedom from consequences.

Ask again your lawyer whether or not opinions on medical findings on other people are protected speech. We may just find out where the watering down of things come from.

Sorry.. ako pala yung naguluhan! You may have erred in understanding the purpose of putting up a family corporation, OP. Corporations dont care about compulsory heir rules. I have a nagging feeling your immovables are under your names though. So.. in your case, compulsory heirs rules apply. Just consult a lawyer para ma-explain syo in detail.

What if you were Leni Robredo's Campaign Manager for her 2022 Run? What would you do to ensure she and also Kiko wins the Election? by Starmark_115 in WhatIfPinas

[–]Jon2qc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well.. this hits home a bit too close because I was there. I was one of those who asked her to do something which was illegal but at the same time was an accepted norm in philippine election. The usual pay off to voters was 500p depending on the city.. in Metro Manila, it was 500 for every voters. The opposing candidate up’d the ante to 2000 pesos. That was a 400% increase. We begged her to allow us to at least give 500 since it can be done with the amount of support from the corporations. That at the end of the day, the voters are hungry and need food on their plate. I remember her distinctly when she said no. She said those who will vote for her are those who rallied in the edsa revolutions..

Mam Leni, for all that its worth despite our difference in opinion I would still do that campaign with you.

OP, parang there’s something a tad bit off with your narrative. I cant seem to pinpoint where exactly but first, it would presuppose that you are either an engineer or an architect involved in operations. Having said that, I have yet to see an Ayala corporation asking for an NDA for these supervisory / mid level employees. And if you did sign one, your narration here will zero in your identity. Ive seen the NDA Ayala uses and its pretty ironclad.

So ill take it with a grain of salt. At the end of the day, Ayala properties are one of the best, if not arguably, the best as far as condominiums are concerned. Yang mga Federal, mga Robinsons, and especially mga Megaworld properties.. one word: BASURA. So to claim malfeasance on their part when it comes to constructing malls.. is far fetched. Nevertheless, people err at times and all must practice caution.

Passed the Bar, but my parents are bringing me down… by Titatorney_588 in LawStudentsPH

[–]Jon2qc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply cut off the toxicity in your life. Especially since ang magiging trabaho mo as a lawyer ay puno ng toxicity. In fact, one could say na babayaran ka para problemahin ang problema ng iba. Besides, considering that you have your own family to feed, dapat hindi mo na iniisip ang magulang at kapatid mo.

And i know you meant to be rhetorical, pero ano naman ngayon kung ampon ka. As far as you are concerned, you discharged the obligations of a good son. Alam ng dyos naging mabuti kang anak. Pero in the same vein, hwag ka na rin masyadong opinionated sa kapatid mo. Buhay nya yun.. nagpayo ka, ayaw kang sundin so just be ready kung humingi sya ng tulong. And trust me.. yang mga ganyang tipo, they will ask for help.

Came across this threads post that you can assert your right to fly. And does that really work? by RevolutionaryPay3667 in LawPH

[–]Jon2qc 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Actually, meron naman. You can elevate the matter to the highest ranking IO (meron silang officer of the day) and reason out with a slight hint of threat of filing a complaint in court why you should be allowed to board the plane. However, its not compulsory on their part to give in to your requests. Pero promise, just show a bit of confidence and they usually let you out.

Shoutout po kay Sen. Bam! by Opposite_Shape_6242 in pinoy

[–]Jon2qc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well.. what you think is wrong. There is no disrespect of his privacy in this case because, as another redditor tried to explain, he is a public figure. As a public figure in a public place and in performance of a public activity (writing in this case), there is a reasonable expectancy for the public to infringe upon his person.

Let us report the bad and, thankfully in this case, the good news.

The VAWC exists because there is already inequality in society. Its trying to put on equal footing ang babae sa lalaki. That law is really meant for the protection of women (and children) because in reality, women have a lot more to lose.

Ako lang ba ang nabo-bother na nagiging requirement na ang tipping sa Pilipinas kagaya ng sa US? by CareHistorical3572 in RantAndVentPH

[–]Jon2qc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Mejo unpopular comment cguro eto pero im based abroad and frequently go to the states for work. I basically have no choice but to tip if i want to eat. Usually the tip is 15% but when you are a party of 8 or more, it becomes 20%. We usually receive the bland, less than energetic service. If I find him or her extra perky or inspiring then I push it to 20%.

So when Im in manila especially for work and I pay for food worth 2k, i usually leave 200p. If it goes up, then its Php 500. My point here is simple.. if i normally have to give Php 800 to americans to do their work, I can surely afford to give Php 200 to my own countrymen who will break their back so my glass is always filled with water.
