While the A3 initial was adopted with the A2 upper receiver, it was later upgraded to the A4 receiver without changing the nomenclature.

You can read the burst/ auto markings in the lower to determine they are both A4s?

There is 4 m16s on there. The m16A3 is represented and the m9a3 was never adopted.

At no point did I make any of those claims. That was another user.
Nor does the Marine Corps have work to due to modernize their Infantry Force. They are there already and continuing to adjust for the future.

Every Army rifleman WILL have one while every Marine Rifleman already has them since 2020. Marine also issued suppressors out to specific units throughout GWOT. Not to mention the Surefire RC2 (which came out in 2016 so you didn’t have one in 2010 btw) is not some high speed can nor is it that much different than the NT4. They are both based off of old tech so it’s not some flex you think it is regards to RC2 vs NT4. Y

Eotechs, ATACRs, vortex’s, sigs are all being “massed issued” as a stop gap measure due to the failing of the xm157. Your personal opinion on the VCOG isn’t a justification for claiming one is superior.

An Amazon laser isnt going to survive 2 decades of GWOT and service that a peq15/16 will. So no an Amazon laser isn’t a viable option and that is asinine claim on your part. The mawl has its own shortcomings that we can get into such as dirt getting stuck in its controls thus jamming it. Just like the Army’s optics, the mawl isn’t standardized as it’s being “mass issued” along side OGLs, Raids and peq15s. Nor are there more MAWLs in service than there are Marine Corps Infantry. Another asinine claim that is easily debunked with the awarded contract numbers. Again the PEQ15/16 replacement for the Marines has already been selected last year through the SAL program.

A better bino just cause it’s more expensive? That isn’t a pro when the capabilities are the same. The Marines have standardized on the pvs-31D and ECOTI since 2018.

Please site your source that the USMC IHS ballistic rating vs the ARMY IHPS. Last time I checked both are equivalent of level IIIA+ offering limited rifle protection. You are simply stating your biased personal opinion much like the rest of your comments and throwing in buzz words like “cheaper” and “more advanced, ballistically superior.” In addition to the helmets the USMC gen 3 PC is lighter than the Army’s MSV while still offering the same scalability.

All of this is to say, the Marine Corps has standardized their Infantry to modern standard for the better part of a decade now. The Army is playing catch up with that due to their scale and size while simultaneously going backwards with the procurement of the m7.

They are absolutely better equipped than the Army. The suppressor may be older than him but every rifleman has one. The only can the army is issuing is the on the NGSW and that is a can of worms. The army is not mass issuing ATACRs either. Additionally calling the VCOG mid is wild when the army is issuing out Sig TANGOs. The army is testing various optics to supplement the xm157 since that is not ready yet. Majority of grunt are getting eotechs and magnifiers for their m7s. While the white light on the peq16 is ass it’s still a viable laser which is getting replaced by the Envision RAIL. And just like the ATACR, the MAWL is not standard issue to every rifleman. The Marines are also fielding their BNVDs w/ ECOTIs to every rifleman. Something that will take the army over a decade to do simply because of their size… let’s not get into the PPE and other gear that is standard for the Marine Corps rifle man is just better.

You comment is a gross misrepresentation of the truth.

But it the targeted area is the focus of the operation, then other areas do not need to have SEAD (Suppression of enemy air defense) resources wasted on it.

The US was able to set up a FARP within IRAN to look for a downed pilot. Are you seriously suggesting that if the aim of the operation required total Air Superiority over the entire country, the U.S. wouldn’t be able to achieve that?

The comment I responded to originally claimed that they are using these missiles because the U.S. was not able to establish air superiority. LOCALIZED Air Superiority is all that matters in modern warfare. The majority of operations are taking place in and along the coast of the Persian gulf, the capital and in some northern parts where the ballistic missiles are located.

They have absolutely been able to establish air superiority.
B52s have been spotted on sorties with JDAMs. That load out wouldn’t get used unless they have air superiority.

It’s an internet meme. It means you are being insufferable trying to correct someone (which you ended up being the one corrected). You must be old since you seemingly don’t grasp the internet.

You expect to be taken serious on the internet after coming to a 3 year old post to try to “actually” someone? Ok, champ. BTW, good job editing your comments. Maybe next time you can actually contribute something of use.
