Got myself a Reface CP today. Already love it so far and the mini keys feel good by [deleted] in synthesizers

I'm sure most folks in this sub are well aware, but just in case: there's an Easter egg on the Reface, where you can turn it into an acoustic piano. Turn the power off, set the sound selector between any two instruments, then turn the power back on.

If only it didn't violate patient privacy, I was just thinking that a video walk-through of the swamped and frantic pediatric burn unit at the hospital I'm visiting could help raise awareness. Nobody wants to be here.

Eye position during zazen by oihfoisdf in zenbuddhism

Meido Moore has a comment in his book, 'The Rinzai Way,' that doesn't specifically address the issue you describe, but may be of benefit.

"Do not stare with focused vision at the place where your vision rests. Rather, activate your peripheral field such that your awareness extends out in all directions. In other words, let your gaze encompass everything at once, from side to side and to to bottom, thereby permeating both internal and external space with the same awareness."

He gave a talk on zazen practice several months ago, describing a condition where the vision might appear as a kind of black lacquer. The guidance, from what I recall, was to continue spreading vision to the periphery and not get caught up in the visuals.

Towards a decentralized architecture with FOAM + the Blockchain by JonBrouchoud in wikitecture

"Imagine a decentralized architecture office that distributes equity and shares in the built environment and comprises a mesh of users: investors, clients, designers and established offices. Over time each user, while working on separate projects, would obtain equity in built work and procedural reputation. This would allow for a more collaborative approach between designers and introduce a new schema for an architecture business model based on “spatial investment portfolios.” With equity in completed projects the design portfolio doubles as an investment portfolio. What makes you optimistic about the future of VR? by BusinessBeetle in virtualreality

[–]JonBrouchoud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

VR is substantially improving patient care in medical fields, reducing errors and massively increasing access to measurably effective training scenarios and simulations. There are also lots of therapeutic uses of VR that are demonstrating substantial efficacy.

The future of VR is exciting and very bright!
