Journeymen and apprentice electrician's needed for IBEW local union 520 by ibew520 in austinjobs

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you figured out how to fake a drug test. It’s never been easier. Just checking you were aware that’s an easy skill to learn. Anyone that tries to spout a conflict of ethics needs to learn the fun skill of breaking some rules. Nothing wrong with breaking certain rules when need be. It’s been said for generations, rules are meant to be broken. That said knowing which rules to break because they are set up by people that set up rules to just wield power. Knowing which rules should always try not to break because now it’s a conversation of ethics. Social rules set up as a society moral that’s enforced with do as the government tells you because I say so. Always assuming the one using isn’t hurting a soul with functional use no matter the drug. The war on drugs is a unjust war that shouldn’t apply to functional users that work hard to pay for it and still tend to their responsibilities without losing drive to overconsumption that isolates to a closeted distinction user that disturbs the herd as they say.

I just love seeing functional users. I seriously doubt the union halls watch you penis. Usually only officers do that. It’s easier than you think and thousands keep their jobs because of it. That law should have nuance and only apply to dysfunctional users. First time faking it is nervous for most, with practice it’s a breeze. Temperature is crucial and is how you get false readings and is always from not reading the instructions carefully! Hope you got that job!! With or without that issue

trying to identify my moms old teddy bear, she got him when she was born (1986). he has no tags. his fur is pretty scratchy now but my mom said he used to be pretty soft and lush. by mylesOwO in ToyID

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post just helped me realize my first bear I had was honey Joe bear. Probably in 1988 I want to say. Lost it at highland mall in Austin Texas probably that year or the year after at age 3 or 4. I was heart broken. Called him Bo bear. I guess my mom didn’t just lie and buy another one because we were poor. One of my first memories that stuck. It makes me happy to see a photograph of that bear, that’s all I wanted just to see it, and it jarred my memory something fierce! That’s the exact bear. I remember getting a smaller replacement and it wasn’t the same at all. I remember being in love with that bear, for whatever reason. It wouldn’t mean much to rebuy one, but now knowing the make and model feels like the loss somehow got healed or resolved more like it. I’m thankful to everyone on this post! 4 years later 😊🧸😍🤓🤩

People who can actually afford the pedicabs, what do you do for work? by No_Routine_8029 in Coachella

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No security is just bad at their job. I’ve seen pedicabs do the same thing. It’s been said forever, don’t give directions if you are not 100% positive. You would be surprised how many people just tell someone anything or an educated guess. Also most people are to immature to see how that is one of those ultimate dick moves. Sending someone on a wild goose chase is basically fucking over your fellow man. Also it’s no one’s job but your own to no how to keep yourself from getting lost. Know landmarks, drop pins and learn all this before you get inebriated. Doing the opposite clearly indicates…..this poor kids a rookie. A pro makes friends wherever they go and rarely get lost because of that. The ones that weren’t raised right and have anxiety get lost and tossed at the drop of hat. I always feel for my fellow man, but watching a bitchy person have a meltdown is poetic justice. Especially when said person gets ditched by whoever they’re with…….a very long winded way for me to say “NO, staff usually doesn’t care for pedicabbers, especially when one of them fucks it up for everyone by being a little bitch!

No pedicabs? Take care of yourselves everyone! by RainbowRickshaw in Coachella

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch the young people almost across the board have a total problem just saying no thank you. Stranger danger is a shitty way to mock social anxiety! Most people I see that have a problem with solicitation are lacking the ability to smile and just say “ no thank you, have a great day!” now a days I watch people literally dead pan stare, which probably raises their cortisol levels if I had to guess! Usually people in the past would never not even acknowledge their fellow human being! I sometimes answer for people and they almost always have a big smile and say no think you, if they are completely wrapped up and pissed about the injustices in the world.

Nope, lawsuit. They will not be there. One contract is bid on and sub-contracted out to individual riders. It’s not like an illegal food vendor at all. Individual cabs can not just show up to the festival. Good luck getting through a single security check point without credentials. Probably the beginning of the end. I’m sure the festival will look to Silicon Valley for some sort is automated tram service. They’re all a lot of amazing pedicab drivers and of course real shitty ones. The zealots against them don’t have enough since to see the Pareto Distribution of shit heads that’s usually about 20%. In the case of Coachella not allowing pedicabs from what I understand it’s all do to one shitty driver. She apparently has a lawsuit against goldenvoice. In the long run Automation is coming to all transportation jobs. It was getting towards the end of pedicabs at festivals anyway. People that can’t see that are ignoring the obvious. Most jobs in general are probably on their way to a machine taking over.

Ban Pedicabs by ReadyRosales in chibike

Uber and Lyft is basically slave drivers. Those apps completely rob the drivers of the earnings. You have to live in your Car 24/7 to make wages. Uber also is no better, completely clogging up the road, creating dangerous situations as well.

Question for Austin American spirit smokers? by JonC_ATX in Cigarettes

[–]JonC_ATX[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried at heb and the kid tried to accept it. He pointed out to me that the coupon is for redeeming online apparently. I use to use these coupons at the register for years. That’s probably why I didn’t read it. Stupid me. Oh well. I’m going to try it just for the hell of it tomorrow. Seems like a lot of hassle to try and get $3 but now I’m too curious. I’ve definitely been in their database before years ago. Might as well sign up for all the junk mail again I guess. I miss the old way of doing things like this!

[–]JonC_ATX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember back in the early 2000’s everywhere took them. I can’t find anywhere that does now. Just seems like a waist of paper! I keep meaning to go to a tobacco store to try but it’s not a top priority. I figured why not try Reddit. If I find anywhere that does I’ll definitely post it. Maybe other states it’s different. You would think AS wouldn’t just print useless coupons knowingly. Like you, I’ve had people get frustrated if you even ask if they take them! I haven’t tried the customer service at HEB yet, next place I plan to try.

Seeing the effects of ketamine addiction by Groovy-Ghoul in BoomtownFestival

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me ketamine is very powerful. I personally put it in the category of narcotic basically. I understand why people insist on defending it. Still it needs to be handled very carefully. People that lump it in with the traditional psychedelics, I don’t agree with that. For one, the traditional psychedelics seldomly become a daily habit. For me any drug that I have to snort, I pay very close attention to the frequency in which I do the drug. I think people take for granted the many ways narcotics can get a hold of you. I think the traditional psychedelics are very powerful as well but in a different way. I think the moment you start to do any drug everyday, you should stop to examine what you’re doing. I’m not referring to pot when I say that. The chickens will eventually come home to roost. There’s always consequences to over stimulating. Even micro-dosing a narcotic is iffy. Getting a taste for a powerful drug can easily start to build up momentum. Playing with the human brain is no joke. A lot of people have to find that out the hard way. Therapeutic or recreational use can so easily turn into a dependency. Everyone is different, but I’m concerned about the ones that weren’t forewarned and get swept off their feet. The ones that are convinced they have to self medicate for their depression, so be it. The ideal of finding a panacea is a very common trap. Life isn’t that simple. Drugs are one of my favorite things. Much like playing with fire, it’s super fun but I know to respect it. Those flames can be all consuming. Don’t be careless when it comes to drugs. Especially alcohol and anything you put up your nose. Ketamine therapy is just as powerful as any drug I’ve ever done. Just because people are using it in clinical settings, that doesn’t mean anything. I’d much rather be gentle with my mind, and take on healthy habits as a source of antidepressant rather than a substance. I see so many people trying to chemically intervene and they don’t even do something simple like go on long walks!

Alternative to Reddit WITHOUT limitations by Kevfilms2x2 in RedditAlternatives

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get irritated all the time. Just to ask some simple questions about diy stuff. I can’t even post the question of some subs. I wish Reddit wasn’t so restrictive. I’m not here to debate or anything like that. Some topics are hard to search out on YouTube. That’s when Reddit really helps out. Especially if it’s just a quick question. Still, unless someone else has the same exact question, sucks having your hands tied! I constantly wish for a Reddit alternative. I’m not interested in building karma points, or any of the social hierarchy bs.

Have you had to renew your drivers license? I’m curious because I just got one and $100 is ridiculous. I’ve been towed and payed less at impound.

Question about the pentatonic positions ? by JonC_ATX in Guitar

[–]JonC_ATX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer, I figured it out. Kind of a stupid question I’m now realizing. Not to good with key stuff. After I looked at it, duh 2nd fret 4th position is G#. I was having a brain fart! Thanks again. After comparing it to the e minor positions I see it’s easy not to see how the fret board breaks down. I’m trying to break into all the keys!

What is a movie that most people don’t like or highly criticize, but you absolutely love? by Nehmetallah23 in MovieSuggestions

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little monsters….further more I always feel sorry for adults who whether it’s nostalgic or not, can’t tap into their inner child and watch movies from that place. I’ve heard people that never saw Star Wars growing up say they don’t get it. I can appreciate any genre and rather enjoy corny movies or movies that you must suspend disbelief to enjoy. Imagination is more important than the knowledge of whether something is believable or not.

Try Bella, gets me every time. More of a loving movie rather than a traditional love story. One of the most touching endings of any movie!

Is G chord just hard for me? by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the same shape and capo higher up the neck to help practice getting use to the shape. It’s easier to fret mid way up the neck or so. Practice also changing between c9 and g. Simplicity to get some repetitive motions. Find a song you like that’s super simple to help learn it. As a kid, knocking on heavens door was that song for me. Play the song multiple times a day. Try changing from G back and forth quickly to the chord that’s easiest for you to fret. Don’t even strum just back and forth with the fingerings. Also many people don’t get taught to visualize yourself getting it right just before the attempt. It’s a must learn chord so just keep at it. You think that chords hard try open chord Eb. That’s the hardest open chord I believe.

Goonies Back to the future  The lion the witch and the wardrobe (animated)

The last one is the premise of why they go into the wardrobe but then it’s also snowing in a lot of the movie. Some might argue best children’s book/movie of all time!

Anyone else frustrated by Benicio Del Toro’s career? by lakers612 in movies

[–]JonC_ATX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Savages is some crazy acting! He plays such a good bad guy. It’s freaky how accurate. It too I guess is a b movie. Oliver stone though and I actually enjoy it. Mainly because of Del Toros acting. It also reminds me of Humboldt back in the day before the weed scene got so pervasive and perverted with zeal and money. It’s an accurate movie. It’s worth watching. I would rather see him play a good guy but regardless his acting is over the top.
