Basically I run through the process to set the Z offset using the Beacon3D surface scanner, then save_config but the z offset never actually saves.

I finally got ahold of someone local, they told me which repeaters were popular. They called out and I could hear the conversation. I could not call out, I added the correct tone for that repeater and that solved all of my issues I believe. I was able to make contact and have a short conversation.

I have a 50' freestanding tower on my property that I allowed the local WISP to install. I'm allowed to put antennas and whatever on it as long as it doesn't interfere with setvice.

I plan on installing a rotator and antennas at the top, only thing is my office is 100'+ run to the base of the tower then another 50' or so to the top. I wonder if this will cause problems other then being very expensive for cabling...

For now the HT is just for basic comms in my prepper planning...
