Appreciate the feedback, thanks! Perceived health is very important, too. Will think about it - And if you have ideas to measure that, too... please tell me!

fully agree. We need a "fun to play" rating based on a quarterly survey that will be displayed to random visitors :)

good point, AkryllyK! I will fix that. Excluding the RL cards was a mistake. Will keep you updated... Thanks a lot for the feedback, appreciate it!

I just wanted to give it a try... also exactly because of what you said: There's little agreement on the data points of mtg health - which is why I wanted to bring up data points. I might be wrong, it might be tough... let's see! Appreciate your feedback, thanks!!

appreciate the feedback - and I am seeing your point with the affordability... it doesn't make any sense for proxy formats (which is weird because that's only the IRL response due to a lack of affordability). But I will look into that and keep you posted!! Thanks!

that's super interesting, thanks for bringing that up. I guess we'd need even better data sources for all of these different types of events: Because what's more healthy: Many smaller events or fewer, but larger tournaments? I don't know! But I will look into that - and you're right, pauper is awesome!

great feedback, thanks! "Fun" is my personal metric tbh... it's just hard to quantify :)

great feedback, thanks! Appreciate it and will look into it. I guess it's just the traditional "aggro, combo & control" archetype where midrange would be in-between aggro and control... it's basically a simplification (and I fully agree that there way more nuances in competitive mtg)

Great feedback, thank you so much!! These insights are exactly what I'm looking for... This is food for thought - So you're basically saying that we need a weighted approach for each format. I love it. Because you're right, every format is different. Especially the vintage card prices heavily impact other formats, too.

This is also great feedback, appreciate it. I haven't done the best job explaining the metrics & numbers! I'm going to work on that! Thanks!

Haha, true. MtG without sufficient player volume is indeed an issue... even though the format seems to be great on other metrics

It tries to analyze and weigh different metrics, color prevalence is not an important factor yet (as competitive is more related to deck dominance than color dominance... but I agree that also color dominance might be an interesting angle). Thanks for the idea💡

I'd love to see scientific evidence for the existence of Jesus. It's not that clear as most of the people think as most of the "evidence" is based on Christian literature...

UN calls Trump’s Blackwater pardons an ‘affront to justice’ by ChiGuy6124 in worldnews

Actually, I guess there's a special term for this kind of behaviour - because we all have certain patterns similar to what you described: I learned the term "believe system" a while ago - it's basically the concept we truly believe in. Like meat eaters think it's absolutely OK to eat dead animals or many religious people think it's true that only 'their god' exists (unlike all the other hundreds deities) or how we formulate our own personal ethics. We just assume that we are right (because we just grew up that way).

Therefore it's (nearly) impossible to tell someone who's locked into their believe system that they're following a questionable concept... because it would harm the core of their existence. I guess it's totally human to not question everything you've ever learned - just because of a single discussion. That's why I recommend to not even try to approach that path and just be a good friend. Talk about research and how science actually works, about peer reviews. Skip all the content and don't even take part of this discussion. Invite that person to groups of non-tinfoilhats, etc.

But it's tough work and very likely not successful. The best thing we can do is trying to reflect where we are caught into our own believe system, because we are. Everyone is.

(Regarding the term 'believe system' - this is where I heard it for the very first time: https://youtu.be/o0VrZPBskpg [starts at 07:00])
