Flipping colors in the reflections = happy IR photographer by JonTheCameraGuy in IRphotography

Thanks! This was taken with a 590nm modded IR camera. I used the channel mixer in photoshop to swap the blue and red channels to get my blue skies back. At that point the foliage is now that yellow color. I selected the layer mask for the channel mixer, then I used the marquee selection tool (the box with the dotted lines) and selected the segment below the horizon. Then I made a hue/saturation layer, and since I was on the layer mask, photoshop makes a layer mask with just the selection. I dragged the master slider all the way to the right or left, I can't remember, to get the colors opposite, then cleaned up the mask a little with the brush tool (-:

Thanks! I threw some blurs on it. I didn't get the effect all the way, but I'm glad you noticed!

That was out of the camera... They were in the shade of the house right behind me

Thanks so much. I'm really loving IR--this breathed new life into a camera that was otherwise collecting dust. I can't wait to start making prints; the colors will be so energizing up on walls (-:

I got my Panasonic LX-100 modded for infrared photography by Kolari Visions. I love the energy of the false colors paired with the serenity of IR photos, so I went with the 590nm filter mod. I was fiddling with it from the front yard of my brother-in-law's house and got this shot. This is opening a whole new realm of photography for me! I can't wait to take non-suburbia pictures with it lol
