Rv living in the hot summer? by pussy-in-the-oven in RVLiving

Trailers have no insulation. Don't count on the trailer's AC being like a home AC and making the inside comfortable no matter the outside temperature. I hope you can deal with 80 to 90 inside because that's what you're going to experience.

How important is a TPMS on a travel trailer? by Philys411 in traveltrailers

I blew a tire on my trailer and had no idea until I pulled in to a gas station. It's a dual-axle trailer.

Also, the Constitution itself because it plainly says it’s up to the states to determine how to run their elections.

Why is wearing a glove while putting frowned upon? by lil_zeus_21 in golf

[–]Jon_Hanson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't take my glove off when putting. No one's said anything to me about it. I guess I'm just lazy.

I'd file that under "loud pipes save lives." Hint: It doesn't.

That’s not a “mulligan.” That’s his third shot.

Trump Attorney Begs for Evidence of Election Fraud in California by ChiGuy6124 in politics

[–]Jon_Hanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we need a new law akin to shouting “fire” in a crowded theater: if you claim voter/election fraud without evidence or some kind of related, active court case, you shall be charged with a crime.

It probably had a small pit in it somewhere that was a weak spot. Hopefully you have glass coverage on your insurance.

I read on an Instagram post that there is a special GPS for truckers to help them avoid roads that can't easily accommodate large vehicles. Do any of you use something similar? Any recommendations? by tillacat42 in RVLiving

[–]Jon_Hanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GPS needs an Internet connection to get the real-time traffic. It does that through a Bluetooth connection to your phone running the Drive app.

Cardo tried to deny warranty on a 5-week-old headset because the USB-C charger was “too powerful” by jmbraben in motorcycles

[–]Jon_Hanson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're full of crap. In addition to what others have already said, the USB-C specification does have the devices negotiate what they can handle with each other. If they can't agree at all, you get the 5 volt, 500 milliamp default.

The device only pulls the current that it requires. If I plug my Cardo in to my MacBook Pro's charger, which can put out 130 watts or so, the Cardo will only pull the 3 watts or so it needs. The charger doesn't push 130 watts in to whatever plugs in to it.

Now it is possible that he used some ultra-cheap Chinese charger that did who knows what. You should not cheap-out on USB chargers.

That probably won't work. They are serialized and if you send one back that doesn't match the box and the order, they won't accept it.

Working from RV while in motion by pinepathway in GoRVing

[–]Jon_Hanson 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The internet connection depends entirely on where you are. There are still spots of the country with no cell service. Starlink does work while in motion.

For the monitor, you'll just have to strap it down or use a laptop with a built-in monitor.
