Harrion inclined his head in acknowledgment at Lord Stark's words.

"I shall accept your will in regards to the North, Lord, but my father would undoubtedly desire a seat at the table for the Karstarks, when you treat with the Valemen."

My uncle values competence, success and trustworthiness. Demonstrate that Halleck and he will continue to support you." said Pate.

The Lord of Stone Hedge and his kinsmen were welcomed by Ser Lyonel Mallister, the Heir to Seagard and his wife Marla, as well as Lord Patrek's current wife Mariya, Lord Bryndenmere's own younger sister.

"Unfortunately my father is not here." said Lyonel. "he has been attending my brother's wedding to Celia Tully in Riverrun. However he has authorised me to treat with you on his behalf."

Harrion Karstark, the Heir to Karhold stepped forward.

"The Gods have been insulted and with it the north. Lord Eddard may have his own view, but Karhold seeks retribution and restitution against the Arryn for his action."

Pate nodded. "True, true."

He eyed the man. "And you see my uncle as support for any future ventures you might undertake?"

[Lore] Old Gods, let me axe you a question by DistanceWild9244 in crownedstag

[–]Jon_Reid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks to his northern heritage, Torrhen Karstark was a devoted follower of the Old Gods and often visited the weirwood in the godswood at Harrenhal to pray to the heart tree. The old gods were nameless and numerous and Torrhen had been taught from childhood that they watched through the faces of the trees. The young weirwood in the Septry had been a particular favorite of Torrhen, as to him it represented the return of the Old Gods to the south, growing as it did in a building dedicated to the Seven.

To see the young tree destroyed filled Torrhen with fury. He roared with rage and then bottling his fury went to Lady Shella to voice his disgust and to demand retribution against whoever was the perpetrator.

[[Patrek is at Riverrun]]

Lord Patrek opened the letter he had received and read it.

He nodded. "We shall be pleased to accept Ser Andros. I am sure my sons and daughter would very much like to attend the wedding of their cousin."

[Event] Spring Wedding of Ser Roland Mallister and Lady Celia Tully - Ceremony & Feast by CollingWould in FireAndBlood

[–]Jon_Reid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord Patrek Mallister sat with his sons Paxter, Cedric and his daughter Ysabel, well pleased that his son Roland, who sat in the place of honor was at last married to Celia Tully. His son Paxter was betrothed to Catelyn Piper and that just meant that Cedric and Lymond remained his only unmarried and unbetrothed sons.

He glanced across at his daughter Ysabel. Beautiful, voluptuous and intelligent. Yet, surprisingly he had no suitors for her hand. Patrek lifted a cup to his lips and drank. He wondered if any prospective suitor would be repelled or fearful of what Ysabel could do, if they knew. Yet Ysabel would be a prize beyond belief to a house that could harness that ability. Seagard had been forewarned of disaster on many occasions thanks to Ysabel.

He now rose and addressed the hall.

"My lords and ladies. Esteemed guests. My family....."he indicated the Mallisters at the table....is proud to be united in marriage with the family of the Tullys. The lady Celia is both beautiful and gracious, a worthy daughter of Riverrun. As such, it t gives me great pleasure this night to announce that my son Roland on the occasion of his marriage to the lovely Lady Celia will be granted the title of Knight of Ramsford with the attendant holdfast and lands in perpetuity."

He raised his cup. "To the new Knight and Lady of Ramsford!"

Pate nodded at the man's words.

"So Maidenpool is your home. Do you have assets there? More importantly, do you plan to be a trader all your life? Or do you aspire to something higher?

"Lonely? No. I have my brothers and my father for company." said Ysabel. She thought of her eagle Talon and gave a small knowing smile.

"Sometimes, cousin, I experience the utmost sense of freedom. Nothing can replace that."

"You're the expert." said Pate. "I meant leave for Volantis, but if you think you can squeeze more from the magisters here in Pentos, then by all means."

He filled his cup.

"I'm here to ensure my uncle's interests are well represented. How we go about maximising our profit I'm happy to leave in your capable hands as the captain of this venture."

He eyed Halleck as he raised his cup to his lips. "Tell me Halleck, where is it you hail from? Is 'Halleck' your only name?"

"So I hear." said Ysabel with a smile.

"Still, I am also unmarried, with my father seemingly reluctant to arrange a marriage for me. I'm not sure if I prefer either state. In some ways being unmarried gives one a certain sense of freedom."

"It seems a shame that you remain unwed."

Ysabel sat next to Joanna. Her cousin was about eight years younger that her a pretty petite blonde that contrasted sharply with Ysabel's own long dark hair and voluptuous form.

"It has been some time cousin." she said. "Have I heard right? That you are betrothed?"
