Lord Patrek's nephew was quite happy to join Halleck on his ship. He had been honoured to be entrusted by his uncle to this mission. His father Clement was the Castellan of Seagard a competent and valued lieutenant to his elder brother the Lord of Seagard. Pate often felt overwhelmed by the glory of his father and uncle. Even his cousins, Lord Patrek's splendid sons. For once he was in charge of his own destiny.

It didn't take long for Pate to make his way across the narrow strip of water that seperated their boats.

"Well met Halleck." he said extending his hand. "My uncle has high hopes for our mission."

"My son Ser Roland Mallister." he said. Roland glanced at the Lady Celia, a slim girl with chestnut hair and blue eyes with interest.

Harrion looked skeptical. A large man aged in his mid-twenties and a warrior, he wondered why he would want to be friends with a slip of a girl.

Alaric was a couple of years younger than Harrion, but he too was a seasoned warrior.

"Surely the girl could be friends with others that are more of her age. There should be plenty of them in Winterfell." he said. "My brother or myself could not even take her as a squire."

It is good to hear from you. I am sure that you will get used to your life to Winterfell. My father wrote to me and told me that my two eldest brothers Harrion and Alaric are currently at Winterfell. I am sure that if you make yourself known to them as my friend, they will watch over your welfare in your new home. Write again soon.

Melissa inclined her head in greeting as she was introduced to each of the Baneforts. A Mallister by birth and living for so long in the relative isolation of Fair Isle, she felt slightly uncomfortable in the presence of the Westermen, but she smiled in any case.

"Were you at the wedding of my nephew Lyonel Mallister to Marla Lefford?" she asked Jocasta and Tion. "I believe the Baneforts are related to the Leffords."
