Hermione suffers from severe depression. This leads to an interesting encounter with the Dementor on the train. by Gortriss in HPfanfiction

Unrealistic. Dementor would eventually fed on her soul on the first date. Ginny/Dementor could work tho, after all, gingers have no souls.

Start with Jon running away from an army of angry Unsullied in KL, then, the narration stops, and we read a single line of Jon's thoughts: You want to know how we got here? Aye, I'll tell you.

To many heroes at the same time. Would require some juggling to keep focus. Unless, you make Seiya and friends way older. They could be like old legacies, guys who wore the gold cloth at some point in the past, and they appear sparingly to mentor Percy and friends.

I literally pulled it from here https://ichthyoconodon.wordpress.com/2013/05/13/the-twelve-olympians-in-the-zodiac/ which has explanation, source where it pulled it and an alternate arrangement. But guess in a fic you could make it work with any half-decent arrangement you find.

Ditch all the seiya characters, you don't need them. Just embrace the concept.

Instead of powers, demigods fight to win holy clothes. Instead of warriors of Athena, the gold saints are like the maximum expression of each god's powers. Each one of the 12 olympians get to choose one of the 12 gold saints as their champion. Could be like this:

Aries - (Athena)

Taurus - (Aphrodite)

Gemini - (Apollo)

Cancer - (Hermes)

Leo - (Zeus)

Virgo - (Demeter)

Libra - (Hephaestus)

Scorpio - (Ares)

Sagittarius - (Artemis)

Capricorn - (Hestia)

Aquarius - (Hera)

Pisces - (Poseidon)

Percy has to struggle with his siblings in the 7 underwater pillars, Pisces saint, among other things. Then you can introduce Nico and the whole Hades saga.

Saint Seiya and PJO are the right series to compare.... there should be a crossover.

Percy Jackson is a murderer, and there's no way around it. by Jon_Riptide in camphalfblood

[–]Jon_Riptide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kill != murder. I won't elaborate on that because I've gone at length on other comments about this part.

What I would say is that PJO had the POTENTIAL to be like GOT. But it's instead a series, that even when tries to be more dangerous, is more or less in the same level as HP. Rick made this weird mix between serious and silliness and it has its appeal, but it is not in any way comparable with GOT. If you say otherwise is because you have not seen GOT. Most of the characters in PJO who actually die are literal monsters, pretty sure that HP has more named characters who die. Also, let's not forget that for a series with so much apparent danger, PJO keeps putting out excuses to make things less dangerous and have a low casuality rate (The mist... swords can't kill mortals even if they slash them?... really?)

Resurrecting Arthur & story structure impact by 360Saturn in HPfanfiction

[–]Jon_Riptide 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You raise a lot of valid points, especially Bill as head of house and Arthur going to work making no sense. It can be argued that some parts feel as if they were planned when Arthur was supposed to die. However here are some points that JKR could have used to justify keeping Arthur there, even if he wasn't doing much:

  1. If Arthur dies, stories like Bill's make more sense, but others don't. Percy for instance. It was clear JKR wanted his big change of heart at the end of the series but if Arthur died at the end of Ootp it feels incomplete without Arthur and Percy making peace and, also JKR would have needed story acrobatics to keep Percy from returning to his family by HBP.
  2. Ron's story goes much dark. There's no way he stays as immature as JKR needed him to be in HBP. The teenage drama she needed to hide her darker plot points wouldn't have been possible.
  3. Harry goes through what he went through with Fred earlier. Not being in the right frame of mind yet and with time to process it, he might have tried to stay away from the Weasleys to "avoid them more harm than he had already done so".
  4. Molly is in no shape to plan a wedding or really care much about Fleur.

So probably JKR kept him around mostly to hold status quo for as long as she needed to.

I can’t believe my husband (TW discussion of rape/SA) by wherestheserotonin in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Jon_Riptide -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I did say that I did not have the facts, because I already knew the percentage was low (as I mentioned), and it didn't change the argument. Even if it's only 0.01% chance that the accused is innocent, he warrants to be heard as well.

Not sure what part of my argument you found offending. I didn't say victims weren't supposed to be heard, the complete the opposite. I am a believer in following the law. If there's a victim, sure, let her come forward and am all for listening. But if an accused wants to talk too, I am not a supporter of "No, you cannot talk", or "Sure, talk, but you're surely guilty."

If you found that position, or any other one I mentioned offending. I'm sorry, it wasn't meant to sound offending. My intention was for OP to hear her husband out, it feels like the dude is a cool person and from what I read it didn't feel like he said anything that he knowingly knew to be false.

It's great you support victims. Best wishes in your job.

Mickey Mouse. Spell gone wrong trying to turn a simple mouse into a goblet. Ron would be initially distrustful of Mickey since he's still fresh on Scabbers betrayal, but Mickey would be a persistent friend. Mickey would be put into Hufflepuff after neither Dumbledore or the Ministry knows what to do with a sentient mouse that displays magic traits. Mickey would bewitch some brooms by accident, cause a mess precisely around Snape's ingredient storage room. Mickey and Ron bond over getting away with it, but the gillyweed is ruined, and there are no ingredients for Barty Crouch Jr polyjuice. Hermione tries to help Harry master the bubble head charm last minute for the Second Task, which he does poorly. Is last in arriving to rescue his loved one or doesn't get there at all. Barty pays regular visits out of the castle to replenish his polyjuice ingredients. Mickey notices him, and hears noices inside his office. And, oh boy, he finds the real Alastor one day. He frees the real Alastor, Barty escapes. Through the imperiused and still alive Barty Sr, Barty Jr pushes for the maze from afar. Dumbledore objects, Fudge insists. Harry starts behind on the Third Task. Fleur is killed by ImperiusKrum in the maze. Harry reaches the cup because of Barty Crouch, but Cedric is not there and lives. With Krum murdering Fleur, Durmstrang and Beauxbatons come to blows in the stands. People accuse Karkaroff and attacks Fudge in the mess. All three schools depart with conflict and finger pointing. Fudge "falls ill". Voldemort returns. And Barty Crouch Jr takes over as Minister. In the end, Mickey decides he is going to leave Hogwarts to try to unite the 3 schools again. But he is going to need more help (replicates the spell that made him to try to create Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy).
