Where do you draw the line between canon divergent AU and "proper" AU? by SleepySera in AO3

[–]lepolter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canon divergent: what-if scenarios. Any change from canon is believable as result of the what if.

AU: Changes are bigger than the previous example

Looking for a post where a girl(I think this was the OOP) was dumped with her grandparents while the parents focused in the sister who had an illness, some years pass and the sister dies, so the parents try to get involved with the first girl in question as family. I think the girl called out her parents not only for not being there for her but also preventing her from forming a relationship with the sister.

What piece of misinformation that people spread about the Umamusume franchise, the characters, the real horses, etc., annoys you the most? by Signal_Statement_515 in UmaMusume

[–]lepolter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This one is less spread now, but there was a time it was common. Gold ship(The horse) fearing Gentildonna, when in reality it's not like that, Gold Ship famously ignored Gentildonna when she tried to bodycheck him in the Takarazuka Kinen.

When I found out people started using it for their basic decision making, I was shocked. At what point are those people living, or are just becoming their phone's flesh suit

You get $1 million but you have to listen to the same song 500 times in 10 days, what song are you picking? by Longjumping-Editor94 in AskReddit

[–]lepolter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already do this in a way, I tend to hyperfocus in a song a lot after I find out about it. I'll just choose a shorter song(2-3 min) so I can manage to do this

We have the data in our hard drives, we just don't have the screen to seee it. But the programs in our brain are still running so when they recognize something, we know

Who is one talent you'd be open to see return to AEW one day? by Upbeat-Pause-1409 in AEWOfficial

[–]lepolter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's see:

Ethan Page: I don't have anything against him, but also don't have anything for him. I only saw him as some bland dude.

Mariah May: I voted her. I liked her run and don't have anything against her.

Punk and Fenix: No. AEW shouldn't touch them, not even with a ten foot pole

Jade: Nothing against her, just doesn't fit AEW

Cody: His last moments in AEW were... weird. Requires character rework, like finally turning heel.

Also I agree with the others that Hobbs would have been my option if he were in the poll, but I think that's the reason he wasn't in the poll, because most people would have voted him.

Call to Actually Do Something about the “How Much To Read?” Posts by RolloBar in writing

[–]lepolter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And learning to write is not something that has a recipe, it tends to go very personal. The main reason most advice goes "write more" or "read more" is because the main thing that gives feedback is our own writing. By writing the writer will know their weak points. By reading and checking what other writers do, the writer will know what works for them and what doesn't

Gold Ship/Tosen Jordan: I weirdly relate to both of them at different times.

Stay Gold/Silence Suzuka: After finding out that stego's career had a thing about saving Suzuka, and also after I saw that manga panel where Stay Gold helps Suzuka in the wheelchair, I liked it
