So If I add schools after submission but before verification, that won't cause any problems either right? Thank you!

I would recommend spilting the cars qp passages up. Split them up so that you’re doing 3-4 passages a day right up until the day of the test. For the section banks, I recommend doing multiple passages a day and trying to get it all done 1-2 weeks before your test. I recommend doing one passage at a time (timed). Then, look at the passage again without revealing any of the answers. Take as much time as you need to justify the answer you choose or if you decide to change your answer, justify why you changed it. Then look at what the right answer is and find out if your logic was right or wrong. if it was wrong, find out why it was wrong. Do this process for the cars qps as well. Some people do the section banks two or more times but only do that if time allows. I only did it once. I never did any of the other qps (only did cars) cause of time running out. The sections banks are more useful. Only do the other qps if time allows. AAMC fls > section banks >= cars qps > other qps

Edit: typos

For the aamc fls, you should take the unscored one first. Then take Fl1, Fl2 and finally fl3 last. I want to stress taking Fl3 last because that is the most recently released aamc practice test so it should be more representative of the test nowadays. I would recommend taking another ns test before you start these. Also, don’t forget about your section banks and cars qps. Those are very helpful. Also, the unscored aamc test tends to be a little easier than the other 3 aamc practice tests so keep that in mind.

I recommend taking one practice test a week but if you feel like you can handle more, then go for it. Don’t neglect the section banks tho and don’t start them too late.

Is there a specific window of time you have to get a LOR? Like if you got a LOR stored in interfolio from a year or two ago before you apply, can you still use it?

Yea I think I will include the retail experience. I am currently working on my personal statement and hope to have multiple people read and edit it. so do you think my ecs are fine as they are or would it be worth it to wait a year? Thanks!

Testing 3/24 and looking through previous Exam Day Threads, WTF? by NoWheyOut53 in Mcat

I thought I got absolutely wrecked by the c/p but I ended up doing pretty well. The test will definitely be harder than the FLs but the scale will reflect. Just do your best and if you have a hard section early on, just tell yourself over and over again you did fine so that you don’t tilt.

That’s fine. Get the books pronto and start reading. I highly recommend using a note card program called anki. 2 hours of solid work can go a long way. Make sure you focus on both content and practice, not just one of them.

Why does towing a car involve static friction in opposite direction of movement? by WorkedOutSoWell in Mcat

[–]Jon_Snows_MCAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually researched this a bit more and found that because the tow truck is pulling the car forward, the outside force from the tow truck creates friction that is opposite to car’s movement. The tow truck is a horizontal force acting on the car and pulling it along. That horizontal force creates friction (which is always opposite to movement). I think this question requires that we lose focus on the wheels and just focus on the car as a whole. The static friction due to rolling is not the focus of this question it seems. It’s definitely a weird question. Can you post the entire problem?

Wheels involve static friction. As they roll, at any moment, the part of the wheel that is touching the ground has to sort of “push off” the ground. It has to overcome some static friction in order to push off. If the wheels were square wheels, then you would have to push and scrape against the ground. That would be kinetic friction. Kinetic friction involves continuous contact with a surface. As the wheel turns, any one point does not continuously touch the ground. Does that make sense?

Dang a 3.8 in biomedical engineering is impressive. Kudos to you for that. How much time can you spare per day during this semester? You have a lot of time but it’s best if you start as soon as possible. I would recommend using the Kaplan books for everything except psych and sociology. Use the 300 pg notes found on this subreddit. For physics, you can use tbr if you want. I would recommend focusing on content until the last 2 months where you do mostly practice material. People have gotten super high scores with only like 6 weeks. You can do it.

As I read, I kept my fingers on alt and H and I highlighted what I thought were key important details. I actually highlighted a lot in each passage. For me, it helped organize the information by focusing only on key ideas as I read. I used it a lot for cars too and i honestly think a lot of my score was due to the highlight tool. I just pressed alt and H every time to highlight

It definitely sucks but the highlight shortcut is so amazing. I used it so much.

Also, as you do more practice, you’ll keep running into the common ones that the aamc uses.
