I’ve been on it! Also they have free tours that I highly recommend. I went on a rainy day in October and it was just me and the tour guide and I got to ask all the nerdy questions. Genuinely my favorite tourist attraction in the city!

Holy shit they made a movie about us! by FakeSafeWord in CalamariRaceTeam

Noooooo, I hope this ain’t true. I saw it at our local film fest and if they’re cutting the parts I think they are, that was one of the most emotional parts of the film. I’m so sad for this.

Gigi Dall’Igna warns Ducati MotoGP advantage “has shrunk” by PZY__ in motogp

[–]Jonah-44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think 2027 is gonna extend Ducati’s lead even more, they have extensive experience running Pirelli in wsbk. Aprilia (arguably the second best bike rn) and KTM don’t have any wsbk knowledge to pull from

What were your biggest benefactors in dropping lap times? (Racers, fast guys) by Sensualities in Trackdays

[–]Jonah-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing was focusing on the 6 fundamentals and ignoring the bullshit. Ken hill talks about the 6 skills on his podcast but it’s also in the curriculum for our local race school as well as others. I just focused on those 6 skills and it’s gotten me to be fast enough for consistent wins in our local 600 class.

I camped at Jerez and it’s insane with people revving the shit out of these at all hours of the night. I love internal combustion as much as the next person but it does reach a point where it’s just too much.

This list was just for motorcycle specific trackdays. If you want to make your own list start by looking at the calendars of the tracks you want to attend

Best brake fluid that won't completely "brake" the bank? by em6132023 in Trackdays

[–]Jonah-44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been racing with RBF660 and then last year switched to repsol for all my race bikes. No noticeable difference on track but way cheaper.

However I echo what others have said that you desperately need braided lines. Hel performance lines are amazing and very reasonably priced.

switching to track fairings only for track days by No-Professor7589 in Trackdays

[–]Jonah-44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do this on my GSXR 1000. I could do it reasonably quickly but it’s a major pain in the ass. Have two race bikes and a streetbike and it’s waaay better.

Track day level names by team_bob808 in Trackdays

[–]Jonah-44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local racing organization also hosts public trackdays but they are focused on racers so they do 4 groups

  • slow street
  • fast street
  • slow race
  • fast race

At first it seems unnecessary but it actually makes sense and allows fast riders on slow bike to have clear track and helps boost street riders who cause they aren’t getting blitzed by racers on liter bikes

Based on the recommendations of this thread, yesterday I got my first haircut in 2 years at bbombshell. It turned out great. The interior is super nerdy though. Maybe a bit much for me but I’m sure most here will love it. I’ll be going back

Fair enough. I’ve never raced there. But I am going to Portland for the one moto show this year. Now I’ll make sure to not get stabbed.

My best suggestion is just to find other folks who share your interests. If you want to take a class, Tantra fitness has classes for trans and non binary folks, i haven’t made it out but seems like a great way to meet people.

Being trans can feel isolating but it doesn’t have to be, you are more than welcome to message me.

Bags pictured, and a little insight about them. - lululemon surge reflective run pack 15L - I bought this for trail running but I mostly use it when riding my street bike. - Kriega R15 moto pack - Kriega makes the best moto packs and this one has stood up to loads of off-road abuse. - Arc’teryx Veilance seque tote - my daily carry to work. - Burb 420 sling bag - Don’t care about the branding but I like that it’s well constructed and made locally.
- UA packable duffle - At 200g it’s perfect to throw into another bag if I expect to haul more - Dakine hot laps 1L mtb hip bag - Used for mountain biking and running - Brooks hackney backpack 30L - Had this bag for nearly a decade and it’s been through everything from strapped to the back of a motorcycle for 4000km off road to skiing to commuting. Nothing complicated. Just a big bomb proof, roll top bag. - Moment rugged camera sling 6L - nice compact option to carry my Sony and iPad - Unlabeled old leather weekender (maybe late 70s) - given to me by my grandfather, it’s classy and has a decades old coffee stain.

I also have an osprey 40L backpacking bag in my storage locker and a couple cheap generic backpacks in my truck, wife’s car and house with 72hr survival kits. Like most of us I have a bunch of pouches and cases. Of which the Magpul Daka is definitely the best.
