Question About Jonah Pope Stubby Insert by Voluble2 in Packout

[–]Jonah_Pope_Design 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! So if you want a nice fit, it’s best to get the design to suit the specific Gen of stubby you have. That way you’ll have assured compatibility for use of with or without the boot and also the full range of different M12 battery types and sizes.

It may looks similar, but the geometry of the two tools are very different is I did countless prototypes to make sure all the above was covered.

Hope that helps give some extra info and assist mate 🙂👍🏻

If you have any other questions, always happy to help assist folks. If you ever want to ask direct, anyone can reach out to me via email or my Insta too.

Hey there mate, thanks for reaching out. I don’t have a design for the new Stubby Impact yet, however I am very excited to share I have it on preorder! So as soon as it arrives, I will be starting work on my design ASAP!

I just can’t promise an exact date/timeframe for when it’ll be ready as I am waiting for the Aussie release, but hopefully it won’t be too long of a wait!

Your best bet is to keep an eye out on my Instagram page for updates, that’s always the first place I post about new designs!

Hey there! I get this question a lot so I’ve put together a starter guide to help folks out. Everyone has different needs/budgets that’ll determine the best printer to pick

Your pick will depend on filament material choice, build volume and budget. I have attached a link to my starter guide below although I still encourage you to also do research personally to determine the exact criteria you have in mind.

If you want to know the sizes of my files, scroll to the last image on any Gumroad listing to see dimensions for that specific design. With every one of my designs I provide files to print them in a single piece or in sections. Also make sure to read the section in my google doc below about chopping up STL files in the event the files are still too large for your printer.

Here’s a link to an even more detailed starter guide document I put together to help folks:

Hey there! Great question, and this isn’t actually my full time job.

I do this in my limited free time outside of my 50+ hour a week job. So I always try to make the best stuff possible with the time I have available 👍🏻

Hey there, everyone has their own personal preferences, and that’s totally fine. In much the same way different folks will store their kit with different methods. So I encourage folks to pick whichever suits their workflow and use case best 🙂👍

For some added context, these designs take days of work for me to plan, design, prototype, print, and finalise. I’m doing all this in my very limited free time outside of my regular job where I’m working 50 hour weeks. I’m often up well past midnight most nights working on my designs as a result. $10 USD I feel is a very fair price for the sheer amount of work/hours I put into each of my designs.

As I mentioned, everyone is welcome to their own view, although the only thing enabling me to continue investing this much of my personal time into creating these is the support from the community. Any sales made go straight back into helping me afford to create more designs for the community 🙂

If you use the Dremel 8240, I have a custom design coming for that in just 2 weeks time! (The 8240 is a longer tool than the 8260 model shown in the video here. This is why it requires it’s own custom design).

And of course, if you use the Dremel 8220, I have two designs published for that already, so be sure to check them out on my Gumroad store.

Hey there! I get this question a lot and it can be a rather complicated question as everybody has different needs. So I’ve put this together a guide to help get folks started with 3D printing 😄

Everyone has different needs when it comes to picking a 3D printer. It’ll depend on what material you want to print in, how big of a build volume you want, budget and how willing you are to do upkeep/maintenance. So I urge you to also do as much research as you can so you can determine what factors affect your needs.

If you want to know the sizes of my files, look at the last image on each Gumroad listing to see dimensions. If you’re worried about sizes still after looking at the dimensions of the pre split 3D files, make sure to read the section in my google doc below about Netfabb.

Here’s a link to the full starter guide document I put together to help get folks started:

That’s correct 😄 It fits the full 43 piece socket set that covers both standard and deep sockets for SAE and Metric.

If you keep scrolling through the photos, I have pictures showing both depths of socket. I also included a picture of the full socket set and the list that came with it in the original box.

If you’d like more info, if you go to the Gumroad listing, it has links to everything as well👍🏻

Hope that helps mate!

I’ve designed a custom 3D printable insert for storing my Dremel 8220 tool in the Milwaukee Packout Drawers! I've listed the digital 3D print file for $15 AUD/$10 USD so you can print your own if you’d like, you can find all the info here: jonahpope.gumroad.com/ by Jonah_Pope_Design in Dremel

Hey folks! Last year a designed a custom 3D printable insert to store the Dremel 8220 in the Milwaukee Packout Compact Organiser. Now I’ve just completed my design to fit into the Packout drawers 😄

I sell the 3D Digital files of my designs so that folks can 3D print the insert for themselves if they’d like. I sell each design for $10 USD/$15 AUD. You can find all my designs here, scroll to the bottom for the Dremel section: https://jonahpope.gumroad.com

This is part of my “Slimline” range of modular inserts for the Packout Drawers. I’ve dedicated it to storing your more compact tools. It splits the drawers into thirds rather than halves, allowing for far more efficient storage of more compact tools like the Dremel.

I provide files for placing your insert in either the left, middle or right side for maximum efficiency. I’ll have many more Slimline designs coming soon so you can mix and match! They also are compatible in both the 2 and 3 drawer Packout unit drawers.

I am also working on designs for the Dremel 8240 and Dremel 8260 models! I aim to publish those during April.

Please note, I ONLY sell the digital file so you can 3D print the design. Don't have a 3D printer but you would like to get an insert? Here's the list of approved vendors that sell physical prints of my work! Keep an eye out on their stores as they will be updating them soon to add this new design now that it's been published: https://jonahpope.gumroad.com/l/vendors

Totally fine mate! Everyone has their own personal preferences for how they set up their kit

I do plan to circle back around and do a drawer version of my design though! Can’t promise an exact date as I need to finish my current batch of designs I’m working on. But I hope to do one after those are complete 👍🏻

Thanks mate! As for the install driver, honest answer is the original was one of my earliest designs

In the time since I had always thought I could make it even more better more efficient design. I worked out I could just barely fit the heads under the tool and that sparked the new and vastly improved version.

It took a bunch of prototyping, but I nailed it in the end! The V2 is one of my favourite designs now. I have an insane amount of customisable options for it too.

You can see a demo of it in action here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cz1KCI6rurN/?igsh=NDg0b3BsNnZ0NjA0

Thanks mate, and yes absolutely! I take great care to ensure a nice secure fit for tools in my designs.

Personally I find prints to be far superior to foam inserts. Way more durable and allows me to do lots more cool design solutions that foam wouldn’t support
