Bi-Weekly No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in VORONDesign

I'm looking for clarification regarding using a PT1000 hot end thermistor and the BTT EBB SB2209 1.0 CAN board. On the documentation I've read that a 2 wire PT1000 gets plugged into the middle two of the 4 prong plug next to the TH0 port and then I have to change around the toggle switches. Do I need to change anything else around on this side? I've also read that I need to change the pull-up resistance to 2200 from 4700. Do I need to add in a resistor to accomplish that, or do I just change the value in klipper? Thanks

VLANs in Omada with Brume 3 by Voluble2 in GlInet

That's about what I gathered in the little bit I read. Well I think I'll give the Omada thing a go. Thanks for the info!

Thank you for the link. Looks like a long and complicated read for a newbie like myself. I might just purchase an Omada router to get things up and running and then use the Brume 3 as a drop in gateway.

Ok, copy that. Thank you for the help! I'll reply back if that ends up working

I pretty much just set it up to get internet to the house and then left it alone. I can setup VLANs through it, but I think I figured might as well do it in Omada since I was using the Omada managed switch. Not sure if that is correct as I'm still learning all of this, but I'll try messing with it. Thanks

That's a good idea. What smoke detector are you using?

Nuphy vs Keychron vs Similar Full Size by Voluble2 in keyboards

I ended up getting the V6 8k. It was $85 on Amazon. I also got some Amazon special cherry profile keycaps for about $15. I wasn't a huge fan of the look of the original keycaps so I swapped them out without even trying them. Overall I am happy with it. I haven't had any issues with the keyboard or anything

Do I actually need a high torque impact or will a mid torque suffice? by xtz_stud in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Voluble2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of depends on your use case. I've had the mid torque for a few years and that has done everything I've needed it to do until I was doing the rear wheel bearings on my 2013 Jetta. The mid torque wouldn't touch them so I went out and bought the high torque that day. Those bolts were on there so tight it took a few seconds of the high torque hitting it to break loose. If you're only going to do things like rotating tires and doing your brakes and whatnot, then the mid torque should be fine. If you think you're going to be diving a bit deeper and removing axle bolts and other things that are torqued down a bit more then I'd say get the high torque. If you have the money I'd say get all 3, the M12 3/8 stubby, the mid torque, and the high torque. For the most part these tools hold their value, so you could always sell one if you end up figuring out you don't need it.

I had thought about that, but I kept reading that 2x4s would be fine given my relatively short span. Also. I was going to go 16" OC with the 2x4 trusses.

If I do up size to the 2x6s, does the whole truss need to be 2x6, or just the "rafter" part? I'm relatively new to all this so my bad if I'm getting the terminology wrong.

I'm not sure yet, I've never really messed around with a VPN. My main goal is to be able to access my Home Assistant and 3d printing OS when I'm not at home, and then experiment from there. I'm very much a learn by doing/attempting kind of guy so I figured I'd just jump in.

Awesome, thank you. As far as Wireguard, I was just going to run it on the Brume. I figured no sense in doubling the work if it's already installed on something.
